I Like ItI Don’t Like It
John Edwards

ABC News:

On his way into an award ceremony in New York City on Thursday, John Edwards took a few questions from reporters about his endorsement of Senator Barack Obama the day before.

Mr. Edwards, the one-time contender for the 2008 Democratic nomination and Senator John Kerry's running mate in 2004, responded to speculation about a potential role in an Obama administration, saying, "I have no interest in running as vice president." But asked about serving as attorney general, he responded: "Oh, I don't have any thoughts about any of that."

Under Obama I think we'll see Edwards as Attorney General and Hillary as the next Supreme Court Justice.

Change your mind, John!

An Obama-Edwards ticket would sure have a lot of charisma. Edwards is the one guy that can give a lot of Rah Rah and momentum to the race for Prez. Edwards would be a pit bull against the inane GOP political attacks. Foreign policy issues? Bring out Biden - make him the next Sec of State.

Let's see, Bill Richardson was promised silver, so Edwards can't have that, but how about for once he can fell like a winner (lost the vice presidential debate in 2004 and his candidacy this year) even though Obama is far from being the winner as all votes (including Michigan and Florida) will be counted. As of last Tuesday, Senator Clinton is ahead of Obama by 50,000 votes. Watch as it unfolds!! Edwards is a "has been."

At least he is smart enough to realize that him being VP would be a detriment. I don't believe for an instant that he did not work out a deal and won't be named to BO's cabinet, his ego is much too large to let that opportunity pass him by.

I don't know where this ridiculous notion that John Edwards is somehow suitable as Attorney General came about, but I'd like to remind everyone that civil litigation is definitely NOT the same as law enforcement. He is in no way qualified to serve as the highest law enforcement officer in the country. Start thinking Patrick Fitzgerald, Sheldon Whitehouse, Carlos Moreno, etc. (somebody qualified)

I was hoping Fitzgerald gets nominated for the Supreme Court, but he's probably as qualified for that as Harriet Meirs was.

I agree. I like John Edwards, but I don't think he is AG material. Patrick Fitzgerald would be my pick. I think Edwards would be a good Labor Secretary. I am thinking
Joe Biden or Kathleen Sebelius for VP
Joe Biden or Bill Richardson at State
Wes Clark at Defense
Patrick Fitzgerald at Justice
Chuck Hagel at Homeland Security
Mike Bloomberg at Commerce or Treasury
Lee Hamilton at NSA

None of those are going to happen. I don't think Obama is going to look in the back of the drawer for his cabinet.

Bloomberg would be an asset to any administration, but I don't think he'll ever work for someone else. I just can't see him saying "Yes, sir" to anyone. He's been doing a lot of traveling overseas lately, preparing himself for something, but I'm not sure what. Whatever he decides to do, you can be sure he'll be the top link in the chain of command.

Obama would be mistaken to pursue Edwards as a VP. Edwards was just last week promoting his poverty cause. For him to back away from that and run as VP would make him look like a power hungry hypocrite and weaken Obama.

I like the idea that someone else floated the other day of a cabinet position to fight poverty. Much better than even Edwards as AG.

Edwards has a great message (he was my choice at the time he dropped out) but he's not the best campaigner, although he has improved.
I would much prefer he get a cabinet position or head a task-force on poverty or healthcare, possibly AG.
I'd like to see Gore head a task-force on climate change.

ABSOLUTELY PERFECT POSITION FOR EDWARDS is AG...would be SOoooooooooo GOOD for the nation and out JUSTICE system which is need of a major rehabilitation after these Cheney/Bush years !!!

Sheeple. Please explain what makes Edward's qualified for the AG position. The man made millions touting as bogus medical theory that has been long debunked and used "spirits" of dead children to explain to the jury why they should award money.

Edwards is a plaintiff's attorney. He wouldn't have a clue how to be attorney general of the United States. That job requires a constitutional scholar or an experienced prosecutor. Edwards might fit in as a poverty program chief, but not as attorney general.

I would LOVE to have Edwards as AG. There is going to be such a swamp to wade through. The next AG (if it's Dem) will have a very challenging job (if it's Rep it will just be more cover up).

I too say Attorney General for Edwards. He'd be great. However I'm torn on VP. Trying to put aside my dislike of Clinton, I still think she's a very bad idea for VP. Her/Bill would try to dominate AND it goes against Obama's call to change. So, she he pick a woman? Or, will that make some not vote for a black AND a woman? Or, should he go with a ex-military person (which I'm leaning toward like Clark maybe?) and/or someone in the know about foreign affairs like Joe Biden?

Obama has been so patient and more than fair not pushing Hillary out of the race and obviously letting it run it's inevitable course. Btw, Hillary camp keep claiming how "everyone wants her to drop out" Understanding that this is big on the blogosphere, WHO exactly is asking her to drop out? I've not heard any pundits say she should drop out, only that they predict she has lost but they all say she has a RIGHT to stay in as long as she wants to. Yet, to hear the whinning Hillary group, you'd think that every news outlet and reporter was saying "get out." She loves playing the gender/maryter card.

Obama, I hear, is not going to be manipulated into picking any VP. Good for him!!!!

Clinton would be TRULY the WRONG choice for VP, so would Edwards and RIchardson as well. FOrget Rendell, he is going to sideline it a bit, his wife is THOUGHT best candidate for USSC and if he takes the VP spot that could be jepordized. Frankly, think Hillary would be HORRIFIC Senate Majority leader as well..MG, just look at the pp campagn she has "run"...flips/flops and pop offs that displayed her INABILITY to actually LEAD , she has been but a FEMINISTA POSTER GIRL ..that IS where her vote support has been maintained to THEIR detriment and it was their SHALLOW choice to back her no matter what , even to all true DETRIMENT !!! Frankly, tempt HIllary with a USSC position..who knows, perhaps USSC SUPREME CHIEF JUSTICE, that perhaps would sooth her egocentricness.....but NOT VP nor even Senate Majority leader ..puh=leeze, do reality checks and give us a true break--WE are owed that after all this !!!
