Cannes Thursday: Madonna, Sharon Stone, Michelle Williams, Natalie Portman, Star Jones And More (PHOTOS)

The big event in Cannes Thursday, after Wednesday's "Che" premiere, was the annual amfAR benefit hosted by Sharon Stone and Madonna, complete with an auction. Guests included models, movie stars and an arms dealer.

Also stepping out on the red carpet at a premiere was Michelle Williams, at her first red carpet appearance since the death of ex-fiance Heath Ledger, the father of her daughter Matilda. She reportedly decided to attend the premiere of "Wendy and Lucy" at the last minute, and Wednesday night hopped on a plane and then dazzled in Chanel. Fellow WB alum (from "Felicity") Scott Speedman was also in Cannes for a film, "Adoration." UPDATE: Friday Williams attended the photo call for her Charlie Kaufman directed film "Synecdoche, New York."

Many of the Hall of Shame represented there, i.e., idiots who cling to the hideous and barbaric act of wearing and promoting fur. I cannot stand those fur pushing fools (Madonna, Jones, Stone, Versace, etc...) "Fur Is Worn by Beautiful Animals and Ugly People"

As far as I'm concerned, most of these women (sans Mrs. Weinstein and Mr. Slater's date) look like the most frightening array of tired drag queens! To think they spent thousands of dollars on themselves, only to emerge looking like this! YIKES!

Umm and why is Star Jones there? Last I checked she has no real talent. Shes scary looking and really needs to go away. I do love it when Huffington Post has blogs here by her and I say something like "who cares what star jones thinks and why don't you go away" and they block it, like they have to sheild the poor thing from the realitys of no one liking her.
