Jimmy Carter: Superdelegates Will Flock To Obama After June 3

Former U.S. President Jimmy Carter said on Sunday he expects Democratic superdelegates to reveal their choice for presidential nominee soon after the final primary in June and that Hillary Clinton will then have to quit the race.

In an interview with Sky News, Carter said he did not think Clinton was achieving anything by staying in the fight.

Right. I was thinking about this this morning and all I can figure out is Carter misses being in the limelight and wants attention. He has been virtually ignored by the party since he was defeated for his second term. I guess he sees this as his last hoorah to get some attention. It's sad. I've admired Jimmy Carter since he was first elected and especially what he has done since he left the White House I think he is a great role model for ex-presidents. His wading into this fray is so unlike him. It makes me sad that is he so desperate to "belong" again. I'm very disappointed in him.

Go to Obama's campaign site and you will see that he has just received the endorsement of 3 superdelegates from Hawaii. These were just selected and therefore could not have come out any sooner. It appears that some superdelegate slots have not yet been filled. I imagine there are still more to be filled although this does not excuse others still hanging around.
