Paul McCartney And Nancy Shevell Go Public At Yale

After 18 months locked in one of the bitterest divorce battles in showbiz, Sir Paul McCartney could be forgiven for steering clear of relationships altogether.

But just two weeks after his six year marriage to Heather Mills was officially ended, he looks to be putting his heartbreak behind him by stepping out in public for the first time with girlfriend Nancy Shevell.

As Miss Mills sunned herself in the Canary Islands, the former Beatle took the multi-millionaire heiress and socialite to a ceremony at one of America's top universities where he was awarded an honorary doctorate in music.

Sir Paul looked relaxed as he attended the service with Miss Shevell, 47, who was wearing a low-key floral summer dress.

The singer changed from his suit into the traditional black graduation robes and mortarboard hat before collecting the accolade in front of a crowd of thousands of cheering students at Yale University.

I'd like to know why people side with Paul. Is it because he was the "cute Beatle" and wrote plenty of sappy songs? There might be more than meets the eye. How do we know what he's like in his private life? There might be unpleasant aspects to his personality and behaviors that we don't know about.
