Until now, we've resisted the temptation to post on former White House press secretary Scott McClellan's new book, which accuses the Bush White House of launching a propaganda campaign to sell the war in Iraq.

Why? It's not news. At least not to some of us who've covered the story from the start.

This is truly disgusting--6 posts since 12:30 pm today--when you people can give 300-1500 posts in a 2 hour period to offer your insights of what is going on in this country or make inane comments about anything that stirs emotion ala outrage. This is why we have the media we do in this country. McClatchy is a crackerjack group full of good writers and investigative reporters who are given leeway and license by their gatekeepers to tell the truth to the American people. We should be taking out subscriptions and ads and give them kudos for speaking truth to power. But it is not exciting enough for limited attention spans--so you get cable punditry, NYT and WSJ and WP and their lies which squelched debate in this country about the buildup to an unnecessary and devastating war--at least for some. You can't bitch about something you won't support. In every decent book detailing the history of the buildup to war, McClatchy is mentioned as being the voice of truth in the wilderness. Why is there such silence for support and recognition for a truly heroic effort on the part of the team at McClatchy papers. Next time around, they, too, may not be there.

I'm puzzled by the comment posted by americanwomaninpa. That certainly doesnt' sound like the words of the americanwomaninpa I knew. If americanwomaninpa really felt this way about the Huffington Post, why didn't she come forward earlier? I'm truly puzzled.
