From a story in Wednesday's Wall Street Journal:

Among the party leaders Mr. Clinton alienated over time by his angry tirades was South Carolina's Rep. Jim Clyburn, the third-ranking House leader and a civil-rights-movement veteran.

Before South Carolina's primary, Mr. Clyburn admonished Sen. Clinton for suggesting President Johnson deserved more credit than Martin Luther King Jr. for civil-rights laws. On primary night, Mr. Clinton called Mr. Clyburn and they spoke for 50 minutes. "Let's just say it wasn't pleasant," Mr. Clyburn says.

Mr. Clinton called Mr. Clyburn an expletive, say Democrats familiar with the exchange. Mr. Clyburn's office would confirm only that the former president used "offensive" words. Some day soon, the congressman says, he'll write about the incident. On Tuesday, he endorsed Mr. Obama for president.

Nobody ever accused Bill of being a gentleman, not before the bypass, and not since. Only the Clintons' surrogate and spokesman Carville who called Richardson Judas and talked about Hillary's cojones is even more foul-mouthed.

This is a total non-issue that is a waste of time and below Huffpo
s standard that they have already set with their good reporting.
Ditch this, already. It's embarassing to even look at.

If you're not going to tell me what the expletive was, then I don't care. If he called him a MF'er, I have no problem with that. If he called him a N-----, I have a big problem with that. Nothing to see here, folks. Move along.

After reading the NYT's piece on the downfall of the Clinton campaign, I have concluded that the former president called Clyburn uppity.

Sadly, a bypass operation signifies more than just buildup of plaque in and around the heart. Plaque buildup is systemic, which includes the brain. President Clinton is no longer the person he was through the 1990's, nor should we expect him to be. He, also, needs to realize this and take some of Clint Eastwood's recent advice.

But heres a chance to change your mind because I'll be gone a long long time
Well this could be the last time, this could be the last time
Maybe the last time I dont know. oh no. oh no!

At this point I don't much care what Bill Clinton said in anger during the campaign.

Thankfully, the campaign is over.
Let's stop talking about the Clintons and look to the future.

True McCain is the problem.

During the interregnum from 2001-2007, Bill Clinton was the defacto leader of the Democratic Party. He had the party on life support when the John Kerrys,Former President Carter was no where around. For perceived'sins' don't crucify him now. One consequence of Obama's meteoric rise would be that, African-Americans will now have to STAND with the supports of affirmative action.Past grievances would no longer be valid. ARE WE READY FOR THIS!!!

Now when Cheney was so civil as to tell a senator to fuck off, no one's nose was bent out of joint. After all its OK if you are Republican.

Cheney should have been censured by the Senate but when the sargeant at arms was sent off to locate a spine, none could be found in the Washington DC area. Seems if you have one, you must check it in a special locker before you enter the DC enviorns.

like I wrote earlier, the only "expletive" that would be inflammatory in this instance would be the "N word"
all others are common acceptable language

Before the heart bypass surgery, it seemed Slick Willie couldn't keep his pants zipped. After the surgery it seems he can't keep his mouth zipped.

Bill, can't you stay out of the limelight for one minute? I'll give you a pass on this cursing Clyburn incident: he brought it up, not you. You have made a jackass out of yourself for the last few months. I don't know if you're angry because your wife's campaign hasn't been the cakewalk you imagined ,or if your heart operation caused profound changes in your personality. Maybe a little bit of both, but you need to shut up.

Clearly, Bill needs to get laid.

Oh, please. Clyburn had a lot of success mesmerizing fans of The Short Attention Span Theatre during this campaign. He knows exactly how to play to people who wouldn't dream of reading a complete sentence -- never mind, a paragraph. Fairy Tale! LBJ! MLK! Jesse Jackson! Jump! Sit!

And now, he goes to the oldest trick in the book -- Something Bad. I Cannot Say What. The listeners are supposed to let thier imaginations go wild. And the dumb ones do.

This war we're in now? Yeah. Different players, same tricks.
