Prince Charles Calls for Action Against Deforestation

LONDON (AFP) - Prince Charles called for urgent action to combat deforestation as part of an effort to fight off the effects of climate change, in a comment piece published Thursday.

Writing in the Daily Telegraph on World Environment Day, the heir to the throne said that "one of the most effective ways" of stopping climate change was "by halting the destruction of the rainforests, one of the largest contributors to greenhouse gas emissions."
