Chip Wars: AMD's Persistence Starting To Dent Computing Giant Intel
The Federal Trade Commission has begun a formal anti-trust investigation of Intel, a move that AMD has long sought as part of its global, take-no-prisoners battle against the world's leading chip maker.
Intel says it was served Wednesday but has been cooperating informally with the FTC for years and that its business practices "are well within U.S. law."
It said it has already provided thousands of documents and that the subpoena will allow the FTC "to obtain not only information that Intel has already committed to provide but also information from other parties."
