I respect his wishes, and I am sure Obama does too, but all the polls say this would be one fantastic tickt.

AG, Baby!
09:47 PM on 06/06/2008
Oh! PLEASE, PLEASE,PLEASE,PLEASE.Be VP.

Good for Edward. I don't think he'd be much help to Sen O anyway. He didn't even win his own state. Besides, his wife needs him now more than ever.

Good for Edwards. I like his integrity about the bogus health plan Obama continues ot support.

That is why I want to see Dr Dean appointed to Sec/Health to move forward,

creating an honest single payer, universal health care system, & cutting out

the insurance companies who have been in collusion with Big Pharma!!!!!!!

Let Donna Brazile take over as DNC Chairperson, she has truly earned it!!!
10:06 PM on 06/06/2008
I made a commitment this year to not support a person who actually supported a universal health care program, even though I am onlky a very few years from my Medicare privileges in the universal health care program for the elderly. The fact that I pay for Obama's health insurance and all the rest of the executive and legislative branch as well as 610 bucks a month for my own, it irks the heck out of me. I know darn good and well, I would not be able to go to Duke Medical if I got glioma in MY brain and neight would your health insurance pay for ou either, most probably to go there or Mayo's or Mass General or toher brand name great places.
10:07 PM on 06/06/2008
But as long as it has Obama's "for all who want it" it is not a universal program and will have exactly the same problem we have right now paying for those who "choose not to" spend their money on health care figuring that the odds are against them getting rally sick. Obama's dream theory that you will charge them once they have that emergency and heed it is stupid beyond belief. If they choose to spend their money elsewhere and choose not to particpipate in a universal program those are not the type to save for a rainy day in the first place, so the rest of us would stil be paying their way. Remember, his wife made her big bucks in the old system, so for him to have that statement still in, makes me question how he is beholden to insurance companies. Since they take 25% off the top and the average price of health insurance has doubled in the past 8 years, it is clear that without them in the middle, we probably would have enough if we all paid a set amount one way or the other.

All taxes will go up a great deal.
10:23 PM on 06/06/2008
MY taxes will go down, because I don't make $1million a year. If your taxes are going up, then congratulations for being so well heeled, and you can afford to give back more to the country that has given you so much.

We can't just put it all on the credit card forever. Even if we don't care about the next generation, all that debt has already caused major inflation, and it will get worse unless we get our fiscal house n order.

JE knows that BR is BO's VP choice & JE wants to be Atty Gen & eventually CJ @ SCO*TUS.

There is only a presumption that there will be a CJ in the Constitution and no protection that

a current CJ cannot be 'demoted' to make room for a new Chief that the Pres. & Senate want.

Edwards does not want to be VP for three reasons;

He wants to be Atty Gen where his populism & love for justice will help restore the rule of law.

John is in on the game plan and knows that Bill Richardson will be VP for all the right reasons.

It's his game plan to serve as Atty Gen for 8 years and go on to become SCOTUS Chief Justice.

I think Senator Obama needs to make him an offer he can't refuse. I still think Edwards would be a great VP for Obama.

His vote for Iraq is what will keep him off of the ticket. That's a major reason Clinton is off the ticket too.
06:23 PM on 06/06/2008
He did not vote for Iraq.
06:30 PM on 06/06/2008
Yes he did. Unlike HC, however, he has apologized for it.

John Edwards: I Have No Interest In Being Vice President
------

This works out really well, since no one offered him that position.
08:27 PM on 06/06/2008
I was thinking the same thing. No one asked him!
12:45 AM on 06/07/2008
Actually, I'm pretty sure a lot of people have asked him whether he wanted to be VP. It's just that Obama didn't.
