Slate Video

The folks over at Slate have taken the just-finished Democratic race for President and boiled 16 months down to 8 minutes. Remember Hillary's cackle? Colbert For President? Joe Biden's Giuliani joke? Oprah v. Babs? The "Yes We Can" video? "Change you can xerox"? Relive the entire wild ride in the video below:

lol That pretty much sums it up, should have waited for this. I mean i'm going to stay engaged to the issues but i feel i've become eerily betrothed to the trivial and she's quite the looker, meaning this has all
been quite entertaining. Even though there is a lot at stake. Plus the writers strike didn't help me much.

Technically, Obama never said he would meet with Ahmenajad. I think he imploed he would meet with the Ayatollah.

I watched the video again - then I laughed really laughed - Hillary was really funny - I wanted to see the part where Hillary screamed "shame on you Barack Obama" - and the part where she was dancing after a few drinks- I think it was in Puerto Rico - didn't she offer him a pillow at one debate - that was left out - but it was truly funny - Obama did win a lot of states - where was the part about John Edward's $400 hair cut where he was brushing his hair - that would have been really funny - well I guess eight minutes could hold all of that -

I know, I kept expecting them to cut away with Dimitri drawing on a pad!

Great video, reminded me of just how long this race has been and how nasty some of the candidates were and how Barack Obama rose above it.

It's a great idea to do something like this. It would be funnier if it were objective. This is just the same old typical pro-Obama, anti-Clinton crap Hopefully, some talented and witty person will come up with an entertaining look at the campaign that we can all enjoy.

Probably the part where HRC is the better candidate.
It didn't play well with the test audience.

You left out that Hillary won the popular vote but still lost, just like Gore and Bush 2000.

If Hillary wins West Virginia in a landslide because "white racists make a difference", are you implying most people from West Virginia are racist? That's a nice bit of prejudice in itself.

And you should have pointed out the MSM blackout on the Edwards campaign. You should have pointed out that the MSM began talking about a Hillary/Obama horserace although Edwards was out-polling Obama in the beginning. It was a manipulation by the conglomerated right wing media to shut out Edwards.

When you pointed out Hillary acted like the presumptive nominee you failed to point out that at the time she was polling at least 30 points in front of her nearest rival. The vicious mad-dog punditry wanted the horserace so they started using the "Clinton rules"-a mocking, tabloid-style, unfair, laugh-test type of reporting against her.

Hillary only won the popular vote if you count Michigan (which even she said didn't count back when she was wooing New Hampshire voters) and if you disregard caucus states.

Fuzzy math...

Hillary did not win the popular vote. Her count leaves out the caucuses (talk about disenfranchisement!) and Obama was not on the Michigan ballot. If you count the caucus states (as you should), Obama still has the popular vote (but barely). Enough with the fuzzy math. Hillary did not win the popular vote.

17% said race was an issue in west virginia and voted for the white candidate.

that's a huge difference, yeah.
