Obama Camp Calls On Clinton Gay Supporters

Barack Obama's gay push continues. In addition to releasing a gay pride message yesterday, the Senator's campaign last night organized an impromptu conference call for about 1200 Democratic supporters. While ostensibly meant to inform the Democratic candidate's constituents, the call served another, far more important purpose: rallying Senator Hillary Clinton's supporters.

In fact, the former contender's name arose within seconds of the call's commencement, when Obama's deputy campaign manager Steve Hildebrand began, "It is a very important time for our country, our party, for Senator Obama and Senator Clinton."

Interestingly enough, most lesbians I know, inlcuding my daughter, are and always have been Ob supporters, where as the gay guys I know are HC fans. NONE of them would even consider not voting, or voting for Mc (what did I say yesterday?) Ain.

He's got his work cut out for him. Hillary is a natural icon in the gay community because we love strong women. Maybe he should begin by working on his fashion sense. Just because you're on a bike is no excuse to look like you just spent three minutes rummaging through an LL Bean catalog blindfolded.

Not all gay people are so hung up on labels and looks. Some care about substance. Both Hillary and Obama do not view gays as equal citizens due equal rights, McCain is worse.

Good point. There is something I have never understood­......... Both HIllary and Obama have pretty much the same position - they will support legal rights for same sex couples but not marriage. Yet, from where I stand, Hillary has had substantially more support from the Gay community than Obama - why is that?
