Al Gore

The always colorful former Clinton aide James Carville said on CNN today that he thinks Barack Obama should choose former vice president Al Gore as his VP. He argued that Gore would be the right candidate for combating the biggest problem facing the nation: oil consumption.

Gore showed us that he cares more about himself than the Democratic Party and the future on this nation. He should stay where he is after refusing to save us from the bushies in 2004 and disappearing during the democratic primaries even as the heated and prolonged season threatened to split the party. I guess Oscars and Nobels for himself are more important than the future of 300+ millions people. I know some will contend that he is fighting for our environment, but the last eight years have proven that it will take a pro-environmentalist in the White House to effectively tackle the issue. Enough said now.

Carville is the new Karl Rove. NOT in DNC best interests.

Another old man ... yelling at clouds ... back so soon? I thought he went back to Louisiana???!!!
I stopped listening to him when he called Bill Richardson a Judas.
Nevertheless, he has no standing to suggest or "float" anything regarding a veep pick for Senator Obama ... so MYOB!

We might be missing the obvious. Carville is a staunch HRC supporter. I would have never expected at this time that he would be endorsing anyone else for VP. I think this might be a sign that HRC is not going to be on the ticket, as Carvelle might have some insider information. Personally, I always thought that Obama and Hillary made some sort of deal. Most people realize that HRC with her baggage including Hubby Bill, might make it very unfortcomable for Obama if she was VP. This confirms that there might have been a deal struck, and expect Hillary to appear somewhere else in Obama's administration if he is elected. I am not to sure if Al Gore would want to be #2 again. What is also very interesting, has been his silence relating HRC and this primary. He has been very quiet.....why?

Obama cannot pick GORE. This is my reason: Gore is also very liberal on issues. Obama needs one of the Blue Dog Dems to win those states that could go either way. I am NOT going to sit here for the next five months while the Republicans paint both the Presumptive Nominee and his pick for potential VP as "Too Liberal to Elect." You need to run someone with you who leans more in "the Center" to balance out the ticket, and to obtain those "Independents and Undecideds" these past elections have always come down to. If you notice these past two weeks, Obama is beginning to move a little to the Center, as well he should. It's called Politics.

I agree and disagree: He can't pick Gore 'cause Gore will not take it.

Gore, however, has VERY high favorable ratings, was the rightful winner in 2000 and has shown himself to be a graceful person. Yes, some loons think he's too far on environmental issues, but, as I've been working in earth science for over 14 years, I know he hasn't gone far enough!

Gore would be FANTASTIC for this nation, but I suspect Gore will be fantastic for the world in another way we will see soon enough.

I don't think Gore would take it unless . . . . Suppose the package includes VP Gore being in charge of climate change policy, once again leading the U.S. delegation in post-Kyoto climate change negotiations and presiding over the Senate during deliberations over ratification of the treaty and enactment of a sweeping climate change bill. The culmination of a lifetime's work, just when the nation and the planet most need him.

Why Gore should be offered VP.

Add Gore votes from 2000 + Obama inspired + African American record turnout + those who want change from the GOP = Total votes for Obama/Gore ticket

You don't have to be a political guru to see how Gore would make this a Democratic romp.

Al Gore, the most experienced V.P. in history, would make Obama look like the lightweight that he is. Better choose J. Edwards since his "experience" almost makes Obama's look hefty (in comparison, that is).

Gore could bring nothing but good to any endeavor in which he is involved. However, I doubt that he'd want another term as VP.

Isn't it time for Carville to retire and give us all a break?

I love Carville. You have to respect someone that loyal. All those people who jumped ship to try to ingratiate themselves with Obama are kiss-ups and, mark my word, not to be trusted.

It looks like Carville has jumped ship too! As a staunch supporter of Hillary, and one who must be aware that Hillary would accept the VP, it's odd that he's now spouting Al Gore for the VP choice, someone who is rumored to be not very well thought of by the Clintons. Maybe Carville finally figured out why everyone else was jumping ship while he blindly stood by the candidate he initially supported.

As much as I would adore Al Gore being in the White House again, God knows I mourned him for close to eight years now, I just wonder what Carville is up to?
My thought is that Hillary would really love to run in four years against the man who beat her for this nomination and the man who was ACTUALLY the Vice President during Bill's presidency. We all know that she thought she was and I've read that there is no love lost between Al and Hill.
I think Carville is just trying to stir up the ticket he'd love to try to bring down in four years.

I think this is the best idea Carville ever had. Gore would be great.

James Carville by all appearances has been in the Swamps too long. He has turned into a reptile.
