On Wednesday night's "Coundtown," Keith Olbermann blasted Couric for her comments on the sexist coverage of Hillary Clinton and her remark that NBC News' Lee Cowan should "find another line of work" if he couldn't remain objective about Barack Obama.

Olbermann called Couric's allegations of sexism "a bit Kool Aid-ish," charged Couric with misunderstanding Cowan's comment, and praised Cowan's objective reporting and his ability to separate the hype from the news.

"It is sad that Ms. Couric could not have emulated [Cowan] and separated the hype from the news in her own promulgation of the nonsense that Senator Clinton was a victim of pronounced sexism."

Related: Rachel Sklar reacts: "To sit there on MSNBC and say that it's nonsense is a bit rich, considering that some of the higher-profile episodes of embarrassing sexist-or-perceived-as-sexist commentary has come from that network." [ETP]

How many reporters are just gonna admit that Hilary made mistakes ,it wasn't because she was a woman .I feel she caught too many breaks ,if Obama had lost 11 contests in a row there would have been a clamor for him to go home ,but to suggest that for Hilary was sexist . When she made her " hard working white people " comment some jumped to her defense even though we all knew what she meant. If she is portrayed as so tough why is everyone speaking up for her now ? Carville even suggested that she give Obama a cajone,so grow up people ,I really think she caught more breaks than she deserved for running a bad campaign , and Couric was really speaking of herself...

All this sexism infuriates me. How can anyone attack Katie Couric; she has such nice legs!

OLBERMANN SHOULD HONOR HIMSELF AS THE "WORST PERSON IN THE WORLD." OF COURSE, OBAMA ZOMBIES ARE PLEASED, OVER THE PAST YEAR, MSNBC BLASTED SENATOR CLINTON ALMOST DAILY. IN FACT, OBAMA SURROGATES SEEM CONTENT TO STILL TOSS DISINGENUOUS RHETORIC AT CLINTON WHILE EXPECTING HER SUPPORTERS TO TURN THE OTHER CHEEK. HAPPILY, THE EVOLUTION OF THOUGHT,COUPLED WITH THE ENDLESS LIST OF SHADY CHARACTERS IN OBAMA'S LIFE, MAKE IT POSSIBLE TO REACH A RATIONAL DECISION ON HIS ELECTABILITY.

Caps lock key, on the left, beside the letter a.

All politicians have characters of varying degrees of integrity. Clinton had hers, McCain has his.
I'll take Obama's over any of theirs any day. His are light weights compared to theirs.

It's sad that Olbermann became just another Obama shill. It would of been refreshing to see at least one person on MSNBC besides Dan Abrams be objective.

Are you people insane? Katie Couric is a mediocre and shallow reporter who has been dragging the ratings down ever since they hired her over at CBS and now all of a sudden she's the greatest reporter ever because a bad, bad man said some mean things about her? This is feminism? Circling the wagons around every woman who you feel is put down by the bad ol' patriarchy (ignoring the fact that they might deserve some criticism, of course) is not feminism, it's insanity. You did it with Clinton, now you're doing it with Katie. Funny, though. I didn't see this kind of vitriol from you feminists when Randi Rhode spoke her mind and got fired. Oh, that's right! It's because Randi spoke up against Clinton, so it's okay to throw her under the bus. Pathetic.

Randi did not just "speak up against Clinton," she went way over the line. I had no problem with the fact that she supported BO but there was no call to be that vitriolic. Under the bus was where she should have been thrown.

Katie Kouric richly deserved that. Kudos to Keith Olberman for calling her out. I would be pleased never to see her visage on television again. She's a drag.

Couric is very much hated by many at CBS. Because her horrid ratings continue to tumble as well as much lower revenue, the budget has been slashed and many have been asked to take pay cuts just to pay Courics silly 15 million dollar yearly contract. Someday we'll be rid of couric......

Maybe Katie Couric is looking for an excuse for failing as a news anchor. For sure it was sexism, too.
"It wasn't me that was bad. It's those bad sexist viewers... It was not Clinton 's fault. It was the bad sexist voters..."
BTW
Somehow people liked Elizabeth Vargas as an anchor. It was the ABC executives and Gibson that kicked her out...
Why is that? Oh... Vargas was smart, pretty and nice... Couric and Clinton are not...

I haven't watched ABC news since Elizebeth VArgas was forced out by Gibson and his cronies...

I thought that change had more to do with the fact that Bob Woodruff was severly injured before the dual-anchor format ever had a chance to get off the ground. I mean, wasn't it like the THIRD WEEK when it happened?

This is yet ANOTHER example of a strong woman right voicing her concern about the discrimination she (and her sisters face) only to be meet with seething anger by "the rules" of the patriarchy. Honestly folks...do you think people are going to come out and say "You're right Katie. I was harder on Hillary for the mere fact she was a woman." Of course they won't admit it. People love to accuse other people of discrimination but rarely are people able to consider THEMselves as being sexist...or racist...or ableist...or homophobic....etc. etc. GREAT job Katie! You're a strong ace in my hand!

'. . .do you think people are going to come out and say "You're right Katie. I was harder on Hillary for the mere fact she was a woman." '

It's about as likely as Katie apologizing for that, "Is America ready for a muslim president" hit-piece she did on Obama a few months ago.

It's about as likely as Katie admitting that she's been a McCain supporter for quite some time, and is probably pulling her little stunt for the express purpose of convincing upset female voters to vote against their interests.

There's all this 'It was sexism' floating around but when you ask for an example you mostly get "Well, it HAD do be sexism because she lost!" Never mind the overt racism that Clinton played into the race.

I hope this does not come off as racist, but as a white woman, I feel that more opportunities are afforded to me than if I were a black male. We still live in a society where many people do see color, and in my opinion, racism is far more prevailent than sexism.

Senator Clinton had every opportunity to win the nomination, and she blew it. I can't recall a single time when Senator Obama whined that all the other candidates were white and they were ganging up on him, unlike Senator Clinton who lamented that all the boys were picking on her. Not once did he point out that 20% of voters in KY and WV freely admitted that they did not vote for him because of his skin color.

Senator Clinton lost the nomination for a lot of reasons, but sexism wasn't one of them.

If the MSM had made racist comments in reference to Obama as they made sexist comments about Hillary, there would have been hell to pay, the uproar would have been thunderous and there would have been a million man/woman march on DC and the corp. media in NYC.

I was not a fan of Katie as a news anchor until today. I also did not know that Olbermann is a jerk and an idiot until today.
That so many people do not recognize the media's blitz against Hillary only illustrates its effectiveness.

Why does this woman even get any press... she's a tard... the sexist issue was a non-issue in the campaign.... it had no bearing on the outcome... Ferraro was the instigator... out of left field Ferraro started screaming like a squeky whell.... Couric is a whinner...she may have gotten discriminated against. but Hillary did not... Don't take anything away from Hillary... She's an astuit politician... very capable and will be a big asset to our country.. Couric on the other hand is sore loser trying to make points about fictious allocgations...Tards do this

I'm not going to read all these rants about women again....I'll just say this , and you can ignore it at your own peril. It wasn';t so much about Hillary, per se, It was/is about the unneccesary disrespect. And every time I try to get ovetr it and work with the Dems for Obama, you guys come up with something else, and i want to write in the Socialist! Honestly, if you guys want to win, you HAVE to stop insulting women! I woudl think black men and women would know what it was like to be picked on by rich white guys! (And girls!) Dowd has some nerve!! I wil say honestly,--I used to like Keith Olbermann (I always thought he was a bit melodramatic). But he and chris matthews have done more to turn working class whites (esp. women) against Obama than anythign the GOP could [possibly do. They're doing it for the ratings, people! They'll be fine whoever wins! I won;t be! Nor will my clients! If you say you have no control over the media (and Michelel better toughen up her skin or stay home!), but you do have control over your postings.... I don';t want Pres. McCain!! Neither do you! So STOP IT! I wish I could print my letter fro DCP, right after Iowa...I KNEW they'd try top divide poor whites and Af. Am.!! Go after somebody your own size for a change......

Of course. We all know that working-class whites are particularly sensitive to gender discrimination. Why, if it weren't for them, Roe V. Wade would have already been overturned.

Why do you blame Obama for what the media does and what some over-the-top commenters say on a blog he has no control over?
