Wendy Williams Sued For Harassment Over Inappropriate, Abusive, Dominant Husband

NEW YORK — A sexual harassment lawsuit against radio personality Wendy Williams claims her husband dominated her workplace, physically abused her and repeatedly propositioned an employee.

The lawsuit, brought by talent booker and publicist Nicole Spence, also names Kevin Hunter, who is the disc jockey's husband and manager, and Inner City Broadcast Corp., which is the DJ's boss. Williams and Hunter have denied the allegations.

Williams' radio show, "The Wendy Williams Experience," is featured in a VH1 cable TV show of the same name and is syndicated on radio stations around the country.

Spence's lawsuit, filed Wednesday in federal court in Manhattan, claims Hunter screamed and cursed at Spence while she worked on "The Wendy Williams Experience" and repeatedly propositioned her, calling her late at night to tell her about his sexual fantasies.

When Spence refused his advances, the lawsuit says, the situation worsened and his sexual comments took on a more threatening tone.

Spence, who sometimes appeared on the air with Williams, claims she felt unsafe at the office after seeing Hunter physically and verbally abuse his wife.

In one instance, the lawsuit claims, he stormed into an office meeting, "pinning (his wife) against the wall with his hand around her neck, choking her while repeatedly pounding his fist into the wall directly by her head." The attack, Spence claims, was apparently prompted by Williams' failure to quit smoking.

The lawsuit, which seeks more than $5 million, claims the broadcasting company failed to respond to Spence's repeated complaints and that the defendants have illegally retaliated against her.

"We will vindicate her rights," lawyer Ken Thompson said of Spence, who continues to work on the show.

When Spence's claims first surfaced, Williams said "her allegations are totally false." Her husband said the claims were "so far from the truth. It's insane."

A phone message left with a lawyer for Inner City Broadcast seeking comment was not immediately returned Wednesday. An e-mail sent to Williams and her husband through the show's Web site also went unreturned.

From personal experience, this woman is a horrible excuse for a human being. That being said, get her off the air and off the news.

Of course she is. Fox loves uninformed stupid sensationalism. Please go back to college Wendy Williams..you are an embarrassment to the black community. Use the opportunity you've been given to make SOME a little, intelligent commentary.

And get rid of the monkey on your back (Kevin, that is).

This is the sort of original content which HP will need to become America's 1st online newspaper of record. Since SLATE's TP which determines which papers are America's de facto newspapers of record by having Dan'l Poleti, et al read & refer to them regularly in TP feels that USAT & NYT are newspapers of record, HP is already in position to become America's 1st online newspaper of record.
Ms Huffington is a most skilled writer, beat reporter, editor & judge of talented writing & editing. HP's staff now have what it takes to make HP a newspaper of record.
While HP constantly adds, revises & deletes blogs, TP could easily scan HP at a given time & refer to them in TP.

All I am inclined to say on this story is as follows:

I do not know the details so I cannot make a definitive judgment on the truth of the matter.

Men who harass women are lowly scum and undisciplined vessels of lust not love.

Married men who harass women are not worthy human beings and should be taken out at dawn and summarily shot unless they have a profound instance of transformative clarity in thought and an instantaneous purging of their morals of the plague of perverse tendencies.

Getting laid should never require anything more than a respectful agreement between two consenting (by definition) adults. When it is something less than that then it is dirty, cheap, bestial, and potentially a criminal pursuit, depending on the circumstances.

Many say they are men due to their biology, but a man never harasses, that is the domain of wayward, uncouth and untrained boys.

Wendy Williams is a mean-spirited urban radio DJ/talk radio host in NYC that markets in gossip and drama. There's an obvious age-old message in this.
