I am just still in shock...WOW. Growing up he along with Peter Jennings, Tom Brokaw, Dan Rather, and others that my generation are familiar with had an impact on how we got news. The same way folks like Cronkite did during my parents generation. All I can say is WOW and what a huge loss to journalism.

I always relied in every election for Mr. Russert to let me know who was going to win the election. I am so excited about this upcoming election. Words cannot describe how sorely he will be missed. I will miss his guests leading up to this historical time in American politics. I will miss that greaseboard that only he could master with such concise numbers and states. As the Democratic primaries rolled on, I remember the night he said "Without a doubt, we now know who the Presumptive nominee is." Once said by Mr. Russert, I knew it was indeed true. Sunday mornings will never quite be the same. I built by Sundays around who his guests were gonna be. I knew that Mr. Russert was always gonna ask the questions I wondered about. He questioned his guests with dignity, as well as with facts. You never knew which side he was leaning towards. Journalism and politics will never be the same. His passion truly showed.

This is shocking and incredibly sad. Russert had real integrity.

I will miss Tim-despite his going along with the war, I think he was a decent human being and reporter-but can anyone tell me-does he have a mother? We hear about his father who is still alive (ironic Terry McCauliffe implied two weeks ago that he was in Heaven)but what about his mother? So sad.

Russert's most recent great service to this country that comes to mind was his proper interrogation of Presidential hopeful Rudy Guilliani. In essenace he saved this country from having another fraud get elected to the White House.

Guilliani looked like a scared puppy who just got caught peeing on the rug when Russert methodically revealed the unscrupulous behavior of this 911 using fraud, and asked him to explain that.

Guilliani kept saying, "What about Florida?" Then smiling. He was a huckster and Tim did this nation a great service by calling him out. He showed the country who The Mayor really was.

I am truly sad. I'm also learning what a giving man he was with his time & $$ for charites and for friends

A great, great journalist. Professional journalism and indeed America has truly lost one of its giants.
May God bless the Russert family during this time of great sadness and grief.

How sad. Meet The Press is required viewing.
I would like to think some of today's "journalists" learned a thing or two from Mr. Russert.
From all appearances, perhaps not.

We will miss his insight and wit. NBC's political analysis will never be the same.
