Michelle Obama has been under quite a bit of media scrutiny lately, from her terrorist fist jab to the rumored (and non-existent) "whitey" tape, and the Obamas are preparing for even more wife-attacks to come. And yet, we never hear too much about the other potential first lady. So as a public service, from now until the second Tuesday in November, every time Michelle Obama is unfairly attacked or portrayedby the media or a Republican-backed 527 group, 23/6 will remind you of this terrifying and true fact about Cindy McCain.

If Michelle Obama as much as cut in front of someone in the checkout line of the supermarket , the MSM would spend a week harping on it, interviewing everyone in the store from the manager to the bag boy over and over and over again.

She didn't steal drugs from a charity that she had already started for humanitarian reasons. She started the charity for the sole purpose of stealing drugs. It was a big smokescreen, a ruse, and she continues the charity to make it look good.

I watched Fox News over the weekend - ok, so I got tired of the endless loop of Tim Russet tributes on the other news channels and Fox talking heads were talking about First Ladies and the positives and negatives of Cindy McCain and Michelle Obama.

I kept waiting to hear them mention Mrs. McCain's drug problems and her close encounter with jail time - thank goodness for daddy's money and hubby's political clout - but it never came up.

The biggest knock against Michelle Obama seems to be her comment that "for the first time, she felt really proud of her country" and the Republicans jumped on that harmless and honest remark like wolves on red meat. I wonder how proud Americans would be if the next First Lady was a former drug addict like Cindy McCain who stole her drugs from her own charity and used the names of innocent people to get additional drugs?

Frankly, I would much rather have Michelle Obama - terrorist fist jab and all.

Cindy McCain made the remark "I don't know about you but I'm proud of my country" in response to the media's negative airing about Michele Obama - yet, Michele Obama never made any comments about Cinday McCain's drug use and theft - so now we see who has class and integrity -

It's relevant in the sense that it shows Cindy McCain didn't go to jail because she had money. There are a lot of other people sitting in jail or prison right now for theft of drugs. Most don't have the money to buy their way out. I don't see her as our First Lady.

If Mrs. McCain had a drug problem in the past, it oughtn't to be news UNLESS they keep attacking Michelle Obama. To me the galling thing is that Cindy McCain had a private showing at Oscar De La bleeping Renta, which also would be no big problem for me, EXCEPT that John (ever the weasel who expects others to behave far better than he is willing to) keeps bringing up the "elitist" thing about Obama.

She was probably thinking she could get away with it. McCain himself is not all that much of a reformer except in things he himself has been caught engaging in that make him look bad in the voters'[ eyes...like the S&L scandal and accepting big political contributions from lobbyists. If he is caught and criticized, THEN he wants to prevent others from doing what he did. But there is some question about whether his "reform" is motivated by expediency (getting himself off the hook for bad behavior).

I get the strong impression for most of his "reforms" that if he hadn't been caught, doing *whatever,* he would still be doing the thing. (And in some cases he still does....the way he--the big deal campaign-finance reformer--keeps exploiting the loopholes by using the private corporate plane that belongs to his wife's company. Expect him to try to make a rule against that if he catches enough heat for it).

I believe the word for what he engages in is "H P Y O C R I S Y."

Why is this NOT front page news? I'm so sick and tired of the right throwing garbage and when something substantial such as this is well known, it barely gets a headline. Cindy's addiction is factual not nonsense like the Muslim smears and other crap they continue to throw at Obama! Why the hell is MSM protecting this woman as though she were so damn perfect and yet completely disrespecting Michelle Obama by falsely saying she said "whitey" and calling her a "baby mama"? I hope I see this story as the front-page headliner tomorrow when I log on before work. If not, I guess there really is a double standard. White is right, right? Think about it. If Michelle was the one who was the drug addict, do you really believe that wouldn't be plastered all over MSM like the Rev. Wright B.S.?

An excellent question. Even here, there is a link to a link to get to the full story, and many people may not bother to click on through. Much of the media reported the Michele Obama video story as one that simply hadn't been proven . . . yet. Still, they all reported it, jamming it into the minds of the American public who will believe anything they hear often enough, even when it isn't true.

This reminds of the time during one of the debates John Kerry slipped in the fact that Dick Cheney's daughter was a lesbian. This was a fact, and was already known by most people, because she was openly gay, but still John Kerry was crucified by the right wingers for "outing" her, and those who did not know she was already "out" thought Kerry was lower than "a snakes belly." My point is Obama can never bring this up himself, nor his campaign the news will get out.

A bigger question I have is, how can you be married to someone for, I guess it must have been 20 years at that time, and not know she was a drug addict. I'd like to see that one asked in a town hall meeting.
