Clinton Conference Call

Talking Points Memo:

This one bears watching: Hillary is set to hold a private conference call with her top fundraising leadership on Wednesday afternoon.

A source forwards me the email from her national finance director, Jonathan Mantz, inviting the money people on to the call. The email says that she wants to thank them for their "dedication and commitment" to her candidacy.

But the real question is what she'll say to them about Obama -- how strongly she'll signal to her top money people that it's time to get serious about throwing their fundraising weight behind the Illinois Senator.

It's time to quit talking about Hillary.

Also, I think she and Bill should be ashamed for not paying their campaign debt for the little guy. Just selfish people.

Pretty sure she will do everything to do as little to campaign for him as possible. The woman is a skilled liar and manipulator. Guess old slick willie taught her some tricks. But I've been stating since February that she will suspend her campaign and not campaign for the dems over the summer, and then bash the dems after the convention to avoid campaigning and continue to hold her supporters hostage. I would be very surprised if Hillary and Bill could put on their game face and campaign enthusiastically for the dems. Hope she proves me wrong...but she's a woman scorned so it's anyone's guess.

Someone remarked that her So Called "18 Million Voters" would only have to give her on average 2 dollars and her campaign debt would be cleared. My Question is how many of those 18 Million are really Republcans urged on by Rush Limbaugh and the likes.

Millions have been donating, myself included. She raised over 220 million - not from Repugs, please stop with that ridiculous theory. O is in debt over 2 million from the primaries himself.

I doubt her primary debt will be an issue much longer. Much of that debt she can write off. She has a 30 million dollar war chest that was earmarked for her GE campaign - many of those donors may authorize her using funds to pay off the debt. Worst comes to worst, she'll just lose the money she loaned herself. A couple book deals will pay that off easily.

Odd thing about the call and the "money people" for Clinton is that her campaign ended in the deep hole and he biggest money people were the ones who gave the max and culd give no more. So this call she will make is for what? She has not held up her end of the support for Obama as far as I can see as the people for her are all over the place with some going national in their upport of McCain because she lost. If she was supporting him she would be talking heavey to these people who have the issues all over the page showing they now believe she wasn't right about anything as she and Obama were so close in too many things they believe just different people. Mac is anti women and yet these Hillary supporters now love him?

The revolutionary thing about Obama--the thing that drove Hillary's "money people" to keep her in the race to the bitter end--is that he doesn't NEED their money! Hillary's "money people" are predominantly driven by their fears for Israel. They have been terrified of Obama all along because wealthy Jews have so little influence with him, because of his campaign financing revolution on the Net. He's no enemy of Israel, but he does have unique freedom of maneuver in the Middle East because he's the only American candidate since Reagan who's not been bought and paid for by the Israel Lobby. In light of how disastrous it has been for Israel itself to have used the neocons to turn Bush into a ventriloquist's dummie for Israel in the launching of the Iraq War, in plans to bomb or go to war with Iran, etc.--all of which have simply made Iran's fanatical leaders stronger and stronger--Israel's best de facto hope is likely to be an Obama victory, however frightened of him they are. Only Obama has the capacity to save Israel and AIPAC from their fanatical selves. Hillary could hardly wait to "obliterate" Iran; ditto McCain. Would this truly "safeguard" Israel?

I'm signed up on HillaryClinton.com to keep a tabs as to what she's doing.

Received an email this morning saying "thanks to all her supporters to taking time to vote" BUT it still says Hillary Clinton FOR PRESIDENT in the banner.

Now why hasn't THAT been removed.

Also, no link to help get Barack Obama elected and she's still asking for donations.

I don't trust her.

I have given up on predicting what Hillary will or will not do.

Not to rehash old bitter feelings over the democratic campaign but suffice it to say I am extremely happy that she is not our nominee.

Sorry but my hopes that she would one day be a great liberal democrat were dashed when she cast her vote to go to war with Iraq followed up with saber rattling jingoistic Republican talking points nonsense.

Just want to say to NObama supporters and to the "democratic" party that it needs to respect democracy and put Hillary on the ticket. Without this, there will be no unity. Oh, and while you're at it, we should have a roll call at the convention, as is traditional because democratic. What are you all frightened of? Perhaps, democracy.

How is putting Hillary on the ticket respect for democracy, when there are plenty of other democrats to choose from? Why is she special? Because she lost? People lose in politics. What you are proposing seems nothing short of a consolation prize, which is just silly.

"respect democracy" - says the ignorant Clinton backer who obviously doesn't respect Obama's outright and legitimate win of the nomination. If Hillary and Obama's positions were exactly opposite, I'm sure you would have absolutely no problem with Democratic Party and the way in which it elects to operate it's primary - by DNC rules, I might add, which were written in part by Hillary's advisors Ickes and McAuliff and which BOTH candidates pledged, verbally and in writing, to adhere to.

As the winner, I do believe that Obama is entitled to choose whoever he wants as VP. To suggest that Clinton is somehow owed or entitled (always my favorite argument from Clinton supporters still in the anger/bargaining phases of the grieving process) is to ignore democratic principles and suggest that the Clintons are some sort of monarchy within the Democratic Party, and therefore owed (as opposed to earning it through an election win) positions of power.

I also like that you try to argue for "unity" by suggesting the forcing of a candidate rejected by the Democratic Party as it's nominee onto the ticket, all while using the very mature "NObama" reference to Obama and his supporters. If you really want NO Obama, then why are you whining and complaining for him to put your candidate on the ticket?

Oh, also, you may wish to look at the space around you commonly referenced as reality. Hillary conceded. And endorsed Obama. Obama is now many hundreds of elected and SD votes ahead of Hillary. Her elected backers, along with many of her contributors, have flocked to Obama's side. Obama is hiring her campaign people (Solis Doyle, for one). IT'S OVER.

But if you think Hillary (as well as those like yourself) would like to be humiliated once again by a roll call at the DNC, further emphasizing her loss and splitting the Party which has just begun to unify once again, then by all means, be my guest.

No politician with a brain gives away their donors. So don't hold your breath.Didn't think Obama needed money from Hillary.

Favorite    Flag as abusive Posted 03:20 AM on 06/17/2008

yes, didn't think he needed anything from Clinton. Why are so many displeased with her inability to give Obama anything.

If Obama is the outright candidate with the money machine record breaking fundraising and nothing to worry about, why the hell does anyone care about what Hillary does.

I don't understand how so many get pissed off because she didn't concede or that she hasn't released her delegates and hasn't pushed her money makers ;) to assist Obama. It's funny to see half the Obama supporters so angry she hasn't done enough, and then the other half so angry that she is still in the news. Sounds like a very un-united group.

If you believed in democracy which most NObama supporters do not, you would not be asking her to release her delegates. You would demand rather a role call in which all delegates are announced to their respective candidates. Wonder why no one wants such a role call? Because it will be obvious that NObama did not actually win democratically. It was a tie, as the roll call will show. That's why Papa Dean wants to make sure that there's no legitimate roll call because it would destroy "unity".

The best thing she could do for him is go back on vacation. Out of sight out of mind. She can't help with her supporters. They don't care what she says, they say she's voting for McCain.
