Patti Solis Doyle, Former Clinton Campaign Manager, Hired By Obama Camp

***UPDATE*** The Obama campaign has sent out a press release highlighting a swath of new hires as they gear up for the general election campaign. One name on the list which sticks out is Patti Solis Doyle, the former campaign manager for Hillary Clinton. Doyle will fill the role of chief of staff to the vice presidential nominee.

Politico reports that Obama is expanding his campaign staff in Florida and Chicago:

Jim Messina, Max Baucus's chief of staff, is coming on board in Chicago with the title chief of staff, to help administer the growing operation with David Plouffe.

And Steve Schale, whom Adam Smith describes as a "hot shot," will run Obama's Florida operation

Obama has also hired a major Minnesota player to be his state director: Jeff Blodgett, the former campaign manager of Senator Paul Wellstone.

It might be a payment for the sabotage of Hillary Clinton's campaign. Patti Solis Doyle may have been Obama's mole in the Clinton campaign. Patti is exposed as part of the Chicago Political Mob along with David Axelrod.

I certainly don't think that he needs Monday Morning quarterbacks to critique his moves. They are certainly seen as winners in this game. Sen. Clinton blamed everybody else for her loss except herself. Just like the priest enacted. All of these Dlinton women who were so vile and nasty toward Sen. Obama and his supporters that were going to vote for McCain. I want to know how they feel about his taking money money from the Texan and saying that he will keep it. Giving up the fundraiser, by not attending, and keeping the money is a bit strange to me. All Sen. Obama did was go to church and he was bashed for even being there. So what's the deal here? They didn't love Sen. Clinton as much as they disliked the "Black Candidate".

For those of you who think it's odd that the Obama campaign hired Ms. Solis-Doyle, think about it this way: Sports coaches often do a poor job, with one team, and may even get fired, but move to another team and enjoy great success. Once a coach gets let go, other teams don't shun that person, or never consider hiring them. It's not a big deal on either side. It's all about fit.

I don't think Obama hired her because of Hillary -- it has been previously reported that Axelrod and Doyle were friends and she is from Chicago. I am sure Axelrod is familiar with her assets and will use them wisely. It's a machine they are building. Some parts fit better with other parts in different areas.

Based on some of the comments here it appears that Ms Solis-Doyle is expected to forever stand in the unemployment line out of some sort of loyalty. Hello ! The Clinton campaign fired her and blamed all their shortcomings on her. The woman has every right to seek employment elsewhere. A tiny , but loud, minority of Clinton supporters are really scary. The "you should starve before being disloyal to Hillary or Bill" crowd (where "disloyal" is defined to mean any word or action that even remotely seems like it could be interpreted as an affront) What next ? Doyle as scape-goat. I agree someone had to take the blame after Super Tuesday no surprise it would be the person at the top, doesn't meant the mistakes didn't come from lower level people. Like Mark Penn why on earth he was kept on after his serious blunders, he was after all the person who set the strategy. His mistakes include not knowing the DNC primary rules, not planning beyond super Tuesday and ignoring caucus states -- that guy in my opinion was allowed to stay on way to long. If the Clinton's hired Doyle no doubt she has something to offer.
