CBS's Lara Logan Slams American Coverage Of Iraq War (VIDEO)

On last night's Daily Show, Lara Logan, CBS's Chief Foreign Correspondent, spoke out against the coverage of the Iraq War by the American press.

At about 6 minutes into the clip, Logan recalls being asked if she felt responsibility for how Americans perceived the war.

Tell me the last time you saw the body of a dead American soldier. What does that look like? Who in American knows what that looks like? Because I know what that looks like, and I feel responsible for the fact that no one else does. ... And the soldiers do feel forgotten, they do. No doubt. From Afghanistan to Iraq, they absolutely feel -- you know, we may be tired of hearing about this five years later, they still have to go out and do the same job.

Today, Sunday, Frank Rich acknowledged Logan but concluded it's not the press's fault we get no news or images from the middle east occupation. What??? It's OUR fault the "news" here is all about Cookie McCain and The Stolen Recipe. Are my friends and I supposed to bring the camcorder to Afghanistan to take our own pictures?

They are planning to. Just believe it. Anyone found telling the truth about the Bush oil war will be destroyed one way or another. Pretty sad that she sacrificed herself to bring the word back to us and still no one is listening in Washington. If they started showing pictures of these dead soldiers, that might get some attention. If Bush's approval rating is anything above zero, it is much to high. Personally, that war criminal is in negative digits with me.

Drop dead gorgeous reporter with brains that go far beyond the intelligence of virtually all us reporters on any level that can be measured

Honey, they (you) did not report the Iraq war. We had anchors genuflecting to retired generals who were fairly spitting in their glorious homage to the Iraq War and it was like sitting in an echo chamber for all MSM/cable programs. Remember the picture of the coffins..which was really a stunning shot..and the woman who disclosed that was FIRED. Were you quoted or interviewed on NBC perhaps...we would like to see Brian Williams do an honest broadcast...yuk yuk yuk.

When was the last time anyone saw a casket coming back from Iraq? If Americans don't see them, Americans won't complain about them and will forget about them. Come to think of it, Obama hasn't said anything about it, either. I figured he would. Maybe he's forgotten, too.

Damn, that wasn't funny at all.

If we heard more stories like that instead of hearing about people stuck in trees (see MSNBC), maybe we wouldn't still be in this sh*t.

"5 years later public may not care as much about the war but troops still have to go out and do the same job every single day"

That is why we do not have 100 year wars - that is, as long as McCain is not elected.

Well, at least she is saying something about the troops we sent as cannon fodder there, but I guess the hundreds of thousands of Iraqis killed there aren't worth a mention.

Lara Logan ... one of best and bravest true journalist left. What stumps me is that CBS keeps you as you certainly don't represent the mouthpiece journalist of the msm. I suppose its because it takes much courage to do what you do daily ... being in a war torn region you cannot escape. Not many have what it takes to be up for such an assignment. As a fellow journalist, and one that had a desire to be a war correspondent until my first born made me rethink that decision, you give me inspiration, I live vicariously through your reports, and I nod my head and shout from the highest mountain "You Go Girl" - Be safe -
