Gay-Friendly Log Cabin Republicans Haven't Made Up Their Minds On McCain

The Log Cabin Republicans aren't sure whether they plan to endorse John McCain, or whether extending a presidential endorsement is even necessary. The Arizona chapter endorsed McCain's re-election in 2004. Here's an e-mail sent to LCR members calling McCain an "inclusive" leader. When I last checked with the group and with the McCain, they were working to find a mutually convenient time for McCain to meet with the LCR board.

I'm a gay, and trust me, -no one- takes the Log Cabin republicans seriously. No one. Not the gays, not the Democrats and especially not the Log Cabin Republicans. If they supported Republicans who wanted to help gay people then I'd like them, but the don't. They support viciously anti-gay Republicans like George Bush. The fact they are actually considering endorsing McCain makes me sick to my stomach.

I laugh to read that the Log Cabin Republicans, a *gay organization*, is described in this headline as 'gay friendly.'

There are a lot of Gay Republicans in the Craig/Fole­y/Crist/Dr­eier mold. The real oxymoron is Openly Gay Republican.

Even so, Bush Administration is still a bigger oxymoron than Openly Gay Republican.
