The New York Times reports that Barack Obama, during a meeting with Democratic governors in Chicago, sat behind a previously unseen and very official-looking seal bearing his name. Featuring an eagle clutching an olive branch, the seal resembles that of the President of the United States. Above the eagle's head is the phrase, "Vero Possumus," which the Times translates as being roughly equivalent to "Yes We Can."

Its called marketing, people, and its ingenious.
The same idiotic demographic that elected Bush see that seal, see Obama as presidential, and see McCain 15 seconds away from being embalmed.
Not hard to figure out, and a good move. Not an impressive move, because it isn't really new or original.

It comes across as a grandiose heraldic designed seal. Not what BO has come to represent. The republicans will gladly grasp at any minor misstep made by BO.
I think that is EXACTLY what BO has come to represent..hence, the so designed seal.

Well, BO just came off a big win against a formidable opponent, HRC. He may be feeling a bit full of himself right now. As soon as his feet touch the ground again he'll get his bearings straight and hopefully refocus on the important issues facing this nation-the economy, the war, healthcare, the nation's infrastructure, oil and food pricing, and winning the GE. The alternative is considerably worst.
Honestly I showed the image of Obama infront of that seal and none of them picked up on it until I told them. I asked them if that offended any of them and most of them laughted at me and said, "Why would I be? That is so stupid to care about."
I say that speech and I really didnt even notice or cared about the seal until people pointed it out. I highly doubt this will affect peoples views on Obama. i've seen hundred of polotical speeches in my life with people infront of hundred differnt podium seals/art work.
It won't, again it's a typical Republican diversion. I mean The Weekly Standard? LOL
If you wanted to emphasize to voters that the Democrats' nominee is a bit stuck up, it would be hard to do better. I suppose he could start requiring reporters to stand when he enters the room. ..... Maybe he isn't all that smart after all.
This thing is right up there with the "Mission Accomplished" banner! How did his campaign let this knuckle headed idea get put into action? They should get rid of this thing IMMEDIATELY and hope to hell that the UTube replays don't come back to haunt them after September.

Well, one thing is for certain, the 'seal' may be the shortest lived campaign promo in recent history. There will literally be thousands of variations on it, and none to flattering...the least offensive represented by this one:
