Woody Harrelson

LOS ANGELES — Woody Harrelson has been sued for $2.5 million by a paparazzo who accused the actor of assaulting him and breaking his video camera two years ago.

According to a lawsuit filed Friday in Los Angeles Superior Court, Josh Levine was filming Harrelson in Hollywood late one night in June 2006. He alleges the Academy Award-nominated actor choked him, broke his video camera and ordered his bodyguard to attack him.

Levine's suit says he still has mental, physical and emotional pain from the encounter. He is also suing the unidentified bodyguard.

Harrelson's publicist could not immediately be reached for comment.

There are laws against assault and battery. It doesn't matter how annoyed you are with someone, you never have the right to physically assault and abuse them. Esp over-paid over-privelidged has beens. I hope this photographer gets the 2 mil and another 2 for good measure.

Nonsense. Stalkers don't get to complain when they're beat up, which is what these people are: stalkers.

I think that if you are an ordinary citizen and you are good at photography and someone tells you that you can feed your family by following around famous people and taking their pictures and you take that oppurtunity and a famous uber-rich celebrity decides to slap you around a little and break your camera then you should just suck it up.

My favorite line from this bs sympathy case:

Levine's suit says he still has mental, physical and emotional pain from the encounter.

I think Woody could use a bong hit right now.

And who would pass up the chance to choke a paparazzi? I mean, let's be reasonable here.

The laws need to be changed so these parasites can't intrude on anyone's private life.

Stalkerazzi got what it deserved.

Funny how you don't see the paporazzi in New York City, and yet L.A. is crawling with them. No photogs chasing down stars of Broadway shows. The paporazzi exist because Hollywood wants them to exist.

NYPD would not be having that LA nonsense on the sidewalk.

They'll shoot a paparazzi 41 times in broad daylight and say the camera was a gun, then skate with a no-jury trial.

Sorry, but if I am on a jury, the guy won't get a penny. Paparazzi scum deserve no sympathy. They are over agressive and invasive. No one deserves the crap these guys put them through and their obscene hijinks have resulted in many shattered lives.

I think laws need to be passed to keep paparazzi at least ten feet from anyone. People deserve and should have an expectation of some degree of privacy - even in public.

Totally Agree. People, all people, have the right to their own space and a certain degree of privacy as well. Its too dangerous for the papparazzi to be haunting and pursuing in masses.

What is he WEARING? Some sort of gigantic collared shirt in teal and a white canvas jacket of some sort? Also, how high is he in that photo? He would have to be completely stoned to wear that ensemble.

Hope Woody files a counter suit for harrassment and wins an award that will bankrupt this POS!

What a sally-pants! I've gotten my butt kicked and I don't whine about emotional damage because there is none. In fact, they become funny stories around the campfire. Besides did anyone film it? No proof no money, Jackass.
