Here are some new fundraising numbers that complicate the notion that Obama will have an enormous fundraising advantage over McCain this fall: The Republican National Committee now has $50 million more on hand than its Dem counterpart.

The latest FEC filings show that the RNC raised over $24 million in the month of May alone, and has over $53 million cash on hand. By contrast, the DNC raised only $4.8 million, and has just under $4 million cash on hand -- a paltry amount compared to the national GOP's coffers.

Heck yeah, lets turn our back on Obama and the DNC because of FISA and Campaign financing.I think those two things will easily trump the dead Americans fighting in Iran after McCain/Lieberman launch their shoot first talk later Iran policy. We have to live in the world as it is for now.We can change it for the better down the road only if we elect Obama.

I have donated several times to Obama and will continue to do so. I have not yet contributed to the DNC. They are failing in their posts so far as I'm concerned.

I received a "letter from the "Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee" asking me for a contribution and I almost tossed my cookies to see who signed the form: JAMES CARVILLE! The man who called Bill Richadson "Judas" wants me to sent him money? What's wrong with these people? I want change! I want something to take place in Washington DC that is change for the good! I'm not going to give money just for the sake of giving money.

Choose Clinton as a running mate now and reverse this trend.

I have a feeling Obama won't have to worry too much. First, the DNC's donations have sucked because no one is going to donate to them while there's no nominee. It's one of the negatives of the primary lasting forever.

May was probably he "worst" month (thank you HRC), and he still pulled in more than McCain. Even he only pulls in $25K for June - October, that he's ahead of public financing, and you can bet he'll take in more than that. And I'm sure the DNCs numbers will go up now that they have a nominee. Though I have a feeling that most will still donate to his campaign over the DNC. Unlike regular voters, he has many first time voters who are supporting him, NOT the Democratic party.

I may vote Dem in November down the ticket but I will never donate to the DNC again. They can hold the convention in a cafeteria for all I care.

Yep we know about the democratic party and the need to raise money BUT the item missed is the money machine Barack has and we will overcome anything you can toss at us witht eh crap notion that McCain will win due to GOP financing! Also how about the big money guys who will not give to McCain? There is that too. We will continue to raise money for Obama and we will have a money pot for the dem party to use in all of the states too. Mac has to pay for the states he thought were a pass like ARZ. Ha Ha laughing at this article

The headline of this article is much ado about nothing. If there were any truth to it, the Republicans would not be running scared after Obama's recent decision to opt out of public financing. But just in case, I just made another donation!

King George W is not incompetent.
His goals are just different than yours, but to be truly successful at accomplishing the neocon priorities, he'll have to bomb Iran soon.

Oh dear. Another horsesh*t HuffPo headline.

The DNC has nothing to do with Obama's financial advantage. Dems love Obama and hate the DNC, so they'll send all of their donations to him instead of to the party. He's still going to end up with 3 times the amount of money to spend that McCain will have.

The RNC is going to have to spend a lot of their money on other races as well. In fact, I would guess that if the polls show McCain to be the likely landslinde loser that I'm betting he'll be, the RNC will spend all they've got on trying to save seats in congress.

It seems like only a month ago I warned that the Bush money-making machine was not to be underestimated (Oh wait, that was at the beginning of the month). Same holds true for the rest of the GOP. Obama may be able to raise billions from millions of donors, but the GOP has donors who are worth billions. Don't be surprised if they find new and innovative ways to snake their money into the campaign to counter Obama's powerful grassroots approach.

I donated to the DNC about 2 weeks ago.
That was the first and last time.
Friday was the last straw.
Maybe the telecom companies will help the Dims out.
I wouldn't advise them to hold their breath.
I wish I could get a refund.

Explanation: Republicans love their party but are disappointed in McCain; Democrats love Obama but are disappointed in their party.

No....

More like Republicans are being funded by all the corporations and military contractors that have been gutting the country for the last 7 years thanks to the GOP.

They will have a hard time getting donors to contribute. Obama was able to outraise the queen of fund raising because of the netroots support and it was, indeed, generous.

With the latest antics of "impeachment is off the table" Pelosi, allowing a criminal in the White House to continue to be a law breaking loose canon, and Reid "I will try to pass an ammendment that removes the pardon clause from the FISA bill" and most of all, the feeling that Obama, the recipient of hundreds of millions of dollars, much from people who sent it to him, forgoing other things necessary to their life because THEY BELIEVED IN CHANGE, I don't believe the DNC deserves a penny of anyone's money until they get that cowarly bunch to DO SOMETHING for the people.

Why should they? They should give up a food item to pass money along to the DNC or anyt Democratic caucus? That is paying the piper.

What is the matter with these Democrats? Do they already have so much money and power that they view us as the little guys good for handing over a sucker buck so they can continue their lives as rich, priveleged elititist "honorables". whose main purpose seems to be the preservation of their careers, the plushy perps, instead of the oath to the Consitution.

Bush got what he wanted and in spite of the stupidity of the arrogant rich man, he can be said to be a successful president.

Successful at what?

Dear me, if you want to call bringing this nation to its knees, shredding the Constitution, going to war to line his and his cronies pocketbooks as successful, then you are right.

If you are talking about successful at doing the right thing for this country, then he was an abysmal failure.
