Dancing Matt

Matt Harding attained internet stardom with his 2005 YouTube video "Where the Hell is Matt?", in which the 28-year-old software developer danced around the world in front of various landmarks and city scenes. After 10 million people tuned in to watch Matt bust a move on an international level, Stride gum came calling and paid him to do the whole thing all over again, this time joined by his new legion of fans. The result, "Where the Hell is Matt 2008", is as infectious as the original.

Pure awesome. This pessimistic curmudgeon-to-be couldn't help but grin watching this.

Vimeo.com has a nice HD version.

Absolutely Amazing. I am glad to read that someone else could not keep from crying.

Dance seems such a trivial thing, but I remember my youth (i am 61) how I went to school dances and no one every wanted to dance with me. There were those who danced everydance and those that were left to the side, just like it is with people in the world. Countires and peoples included in the dance and those not.

What a beautiful idea that all people in our shrinking globe can laugh and dance together. I know, it is idealistic and faciful to talk that way, but his young man and his crew did it. My generation was one of great hope and that hope, I fear, was derailed. It is up to the youth today to join in the dance with all people.

Wow. I've now watched this a dozen or more times, and it still makes me cry, though I'm not sure why. It's exuberant and cool as hell, and it touches me somewhere deep. Thanks for pointing this out!
