Heather Locklear Enters Treatment For Anxiety, Depression And Medication Issues

NEW YORK — Heather Locklear is seeking treatment for anxiety and depression. "Heather has been dealing with anxiety and depression," publicist Sarah Fuller said Tuesday in a statement.

"She requested an in-depth evaluation of her medication and entered into a medical facility for proper diagnosis and treatment. This is a confidential medical matter and no further statement will be released."

People magazine's Web site reported Tuesday that the 46-year-old actress checked into a facility in Arizona.

Locklear's divorce from Bon Jovi guitarist Richie Sambora was finalized in April 2007. They have a daughter, Ava Elizabeth. Locklear is reportedly dating former "Melrose Place" co-star Jack Wagner.

Locklear's TV credits include "T.J. Hooker," "Dynasty" and "Spin City," and her film roles include "The Perfect Man" and "Uptown Girls."

Heather is a Libra. She is very expressive and demanding. She always has a good sense of humor on TV whenever I've watched her though. The last show I saw her on - she looked bad. Her botox looked like it was wearing out and she wasn't wearing any lipstick with color, so her face looked pale and bleek. She has that Farrah hair, so she is lucky. I would tell her to stop the botox because it is deflating her looks like an old tire and the patches are wearing thin. I would go into a nice surgeons office on Sunset near Hamburger Hamlet on the corner of West Hollywood and Beverly Hills and get a cheek and brow lift. She is too young for a full face lift. Then the botox injections can stop, and she'll be back to normal. She needs a more permanent transformation if she is depressed about aging.

Apparently she has a vicodin addiction. Many tabloids have alluded to her past relationship with David Spade and they allege that she and David hooked up for drugs. It is also alleged that she and Richie Sambora broke up because of her addiction, not any affairs of his. I 'll be surprised if this shows up on the comments page! Gossip! SSHH.

What does this woman have to be anxious or dressed about?
Maybe if she had some of the concerns most Americans face every day - like financial wherewithal to pay for food, health care, schooling, housing, etc - she would be too busy to be anxious and depressed. Get a grip lady, you have a child who needs an adult parent to depend upon and look up to.

You can have everything, and still be depressed. It is not something that you can control. Remember, Heather has often been working on two projects at once and involved with two series at once. Libra's can be workaholics, they aren't happy unless they are working. It is hard for them to relax, and too much time on your hands when you would rather be in creation mode, probably does not bode well for her. She needs to get off of her dependency, take nice vacation learning to relax and enjoy all of the things that she has worked hard for, then find some projects that she can produce and control and still have free time, so she doesn't burn out. Plus, she is a mom and she does need to get it together for her child as well, but in order to do that, you have to get yourself in order. Good luck, Heather, from a Libra fan who thinks you are wonderful, and knows that you will be just fine.

Fame and Fortune don't automatically make a person happy and satisfied.
Not having enough to eat or a place to live can cause problems but money doesn't equal happiness.
A person has to be downright cruel to jump on a person seeking help. Especially someone who has done no harm like Lockleer.

Could be her problems could be a combination of hormonal, disruption of brain chemistry, and realization that her "prime years" have passed her by and they ain't comin' back.

Its no fun, but its either learn to live with it or ... the alternative.

I think that you are right. Heather Lockler was one of this country's biggest sex symbols for many years. It is hard enough to get older and have your looks fade. It has to be that much harder to age in the spot light. Good for her that she is seeking psychological help and not help in the form of a plastic surgeon.

You know what makes me sick.....I­s the fact that these celebrities have the time and money to do stuff like this. Check into a "treatment facility", code word for Country Club without the alcohol. I get stressed, go to work every day, struggling right now to pay bills and I don't get a freakin break. If the average person can do something like this (go away to get ourselves together) we will all be happier.

Well it's not a country club if it's a psych ward. A psych ward isn't always as pleasant as you imagine. Well...act­ually..do people imagine they're nice? The problem with the words anxiety and depression is that people think it's just a fancy way to say stressed or sad. While I disagree with much of the way psychiatry works, living with a severe anxiety disorder myself, I can tell you it's not at all about being stressed out at work. It's actually silly it's called a mental illness at all because it has true physical symptoms as well.

I do wish I had somewhere to turn like she does to get my meds checked out. Psychiatry is very much a guessing game. I am a bit confused as to where she actually is going. If she's going to a psychiatric hospital, I doubt they would do much more than double her meds and keep her there for a few days. And most treatment centers are for illegal drug addiction not for managing a person's medications. Mental health has been almost entirely de-institu­tionalized­. People think there's some better level of treatment in psych wards--there's not. They'll double your meds to keep you quiet and get you out of there as fast as possible. They want you in outpatient med management ASAP.
