24-year old beauty and Victoria's Secret model Karolina Kurkova is being criticized over her appearance in recent days at Sao Paulo Fashion Week, especially after a runway appearance in a bikini.

One Brazilian paper blasted her back fat and cellulite, as did other outlets.

The impetus for the stories were two still photos taken at the Cia Maritima fashion show at the end of last week. It was 2006 when Brazilian model Ana Carolina Reston, 21, died of anorexia

Kurkova opened and closed the swimwear show, and did a third walk in the middle. That third walk can be seen 7:35 into the below video, and is the look from which the stills were taken.

Quick Poll

What do you think about Karolina Kurkova?

She looks fantastic

She looks great, but I see that she's a little heavy for a runway models

She got fat

I'll bet there's not a guy or a girl who'd turn down a body that looked that good. For whatever reason.

And I'll mention it again --- Marilyn Monroe was a size 14.

Dead, before my time. Maybe black and white images don't do her Justice. I was born in 63. In my life she was a footnote. A size 14 sounds huge. maybe i would feel different if I were born in 53.

I am going to get flack for this but I am going to say it anyway.

Karolina is a model, like all models, she is paid for her looks and body, simple as that. It is an industry where the money maker is the body and the face. I once interned with Ford Models in NYC when I was in college. Weight is a big issue in modeling..models are expected to remain thin and in shape.

Looking @ the above pics of Karolina, she packed on some lbs and based on the pictures, she is looking fat. Now, do I think she looks fat? No. I think she looks fine but I agree she does need a bit of touch up.

By modeling standards, she is overweight and if she wishes to continue working, she needs to rectify the problem.

A lot of people do not understand the modeling industry but at the end of the day, it is all about what can sell. Trust me, if designers were putting "average" women on runway and in magazine, people wouldn't by. Believe me, it has happened before and little response was given.

The average woman isn't Twiggy ... at least, I hope not. LOL

Being extremely-thin ("0" body fat), underdeveloped & skeletal looking just isn't attractive to everyone watching. So, I honestly can't see how such starving-looking female and male models translate to overall successful sales. That maybe a myth, that hasnt' been challenged enough ... or adequately researched, Cuse149.

I'm with the majority on this, who feel that she looks fantastic 'as 'is,' & doesn't need to be extremely-thin to rank as a successful fashion model. On that note, I also hope that both standards & attitudes that encourage unhealthy looking bodies change towards a healthier 'norm.' Even high-paid models need to be able to eat without obsessing about getting too fat or later, being checked for weight gain. Also, maintaining a near-starvation type diet accompanied with popping appetite-suppressing pills & diuretics & laxatives ~ in order to remain clincially underweight ~ eventually encourages a slower metabolism.

Playing the starvation game only becomes a No Win situation for models, agencies & consumers of fashion wear.

She actually does look droopy in back. But I think she would be just the one to take John A McCain's mind off the business at hand. Actually, he's already there.

NO FREE PASS FOR MCCAIN. NO OBAMA BUCKS FOR BILLARY.

It's great to get the opinions of men on here. Kind of puts things in perspective. I mean, that's who us women want to look good for, not for gay fashion designers.

Add another category ...

She looks fantastic, but I see that she now has cellulite.

Nothing wrong with stating the obvious ... doesn't diminish her. I know people who would literally die to be her size.

Good Grief, this girl is not fat. She looks like she could use a few pilates classes, because she doesn't look fit, but she isn't fat.

She looks great to me. I can’t stand this “super skinny” Hollywood imaging. I like my women to have a little meat on their bones. I don’t find the “anorexic starlets” attractive at all, would be like making love to a bag of antlers! Maybe Hollywood should take it’s attentions off starving the leading ladies and turn them to making movies that don’t “stink out loud”!
