MSNBC News:

McCain told conservative leaders that he would speak out more to highlight his pro-life record and views on other social issues to garner more Christian conservative support, leaders in the room said Thursday.

"He needs to find his voice a little better in Ohio," said Mike Gonidakis, executive director of Ohio Right to Life, one of several leaders who met with McCain for more than an hour. "He pledged to us we'd hear a lot more from him and that he'd be speaking his voice on these issues."

The officials said they walked away impressed with McCain's positions, and said they believed the "ship is turning" in conservative support for the Republican presidential candidate.

I'm starting to wonder about these McCain photos with him holding Starbucks coffee. During a statement yesterday regarding the Supreme Court decision he seemed to intentionally sip the coffee in full view of the cameras. Is this his campaign's attempt to woo the so-called "Starbucks sipping, Volvo driving liberals?" If so, it's pathetic.

Think you are thinking to hard. Attempting to win over the coffee drinkers is a little much; I think the guy just wanted some coffee.

The man who would be king. The narcasistic dilusional acccording to officers that were with him at the Hanoi Hilton. He has no business being preseident, he is actually clueless. he is not Dwight Eisenhower. He actually has no idea about what it is like to struggle in any way. He was a POW so were a number of others. That by itself qualifies you for nothing except good survival skills.

Maybe someday the self proclaimed religious will realize they are only serving the interests and agenda of corporate fascism..?

I hate to sound like the godless liberal-- wait, who am I kidding, I am... but when will people stop bringing *religion* into politics and instead frame the discussion in that of human rights? Soon, I hope.

Yes, John.

Shove your snout right up into the Religious Right's nether regions.

I had the impression that what he was kissing, was a little bit farther south.
But it really won't matter anyway.

With the help of nutcases like Dobson, Hagee, Parsley, etc., the evangelical Xtian fringe has become another faction of the right wing that everyone snickers about behind their backs, sharing the honors with the delusional Log Cabin folks.

Personally, even if I am tempted to, I NEVER read bob novak columns.

He's a neocon of the worst kind, and simply clicking on links to his articles lends him credibility and creates demand for his garbage.

Just say NO to Bob Novak...

Pucker up John, and hold your nose. They will think they own you just like George Bush, while Rove and Company mocked them behind closed doors.

The religious right never thought they owned anybody. They were just not going to vote for Forest G-ore or Lurch.

Not according to an interview I saw with Jerry Falwell after the 2000 election, the good Pastor said, we put him there and now we want what we what, and like most zealots the Christian right overreached on everything because they thought their boy was in the Whitehouse. I really didn’t know they were paid off to deliver their vote, just like the phony snake oil salesmen they really are, lining up at the Faith Based taxpayer money trough.

"The candidate received literature on new research developments which they said made use of the cells from embryos unnecessary."

MANY MORE lives could be saved by making use of cells from embryos. I find it NECESSARY to USE those DESTINED for DUMPSTERS. THROWING AWAY cells from embryos is DELIBERATELY & DESPICABLY DENYING "right-to-life" to americans DESPERATELY in need of a cure!

OBAMA '08!
HOPE & CHANGE!

Stay safe, healthy and happy,
Love, Loretta

The good news is that science goes on. They can ban use of embryonic stem cells here, but they can't stop scientists around the world. Furthermore, if they put too many restrictions here, the brightest and the best scientists will start moving to other countries.

Throughout history, religion has seen science as a threat to their existence and attacked it. However, eventually, science has won every single battle.

And science will win again.

Given what we know about how McCain totally sold out to Falwell, Parsley, Hagee, etc., it should be clear that the ring to which this headline refers actually is an annular orifice.

Jon Stewart's recent slapdown of James Dobson should serve as a warning to candidates who mindlessly pander to the religious right. McBomber should have learned his lesson with Hagee.

Just leave the cash on the dresser on your way out - that's what Falwell did.

The Republican party is dead. Obama can win without the Republican church. I'm sorry Obama wants them in the Democratic party. They will be more trouble than they are worth. Count on it.
