On Thursday's "Daily Show," Jon Stewart mocked Still President Bush for downgrading North Korea out of the Axis of Evil.

"Mr. President, you're going to take the word of a madman?" Stewart asked. "North Korea's no longer a part of the axis of evil? What the hell? There were three countries. Iraq was already out of the axis, North Korea's out, what's left? A dot of evil? Fixed coordinate of perfidy?"

North Korea is now a part of the Hatchets of Evil.

To sort of get on the wacko conspiracy train for a moment, you wonder if Bush friend the Reverend Moon had anything to do with this. Moon has extensive business dealings with the North (including an auto plant) and the U.S. attitude toward that cultish commie regime (cultish is an apt description of Moon's empire, too) couldn't have been doing Moon's bottom line that much good.

Somebody at Huffington Post needs to contact Robert Parry about this. Parry has extensively investigated Moon and his Republican connections and he could have some very interesting thoughts on this.

Or maybe not. But it's an interesting question.

Was this in between Jon Stewart calling "Barack Hussein Obama, Democratic nominee and secret Muslim", while saying "I love John McCain"?

Something he does on an almost nightly basis now?

Gotta love this guy. I still hope to see Stewart and Colbert on a political ticket one day. They're not only funny, they're also extremely intelligent. It would be nice to have someone in charge that we could laugh with, not at.

So, McCain's silence on this matter sure is deafening. He's got a lot of chutzpah to criticize Obama for saying he would talk to our enemies, just like W, then they make total hypocrites of themselves with this deal with North Korea.

What an absolute joke the Republicans are. Do they do anything other than talk out of both sides of their mouths?

Next thing you know, John McCain will probably be denouncing Barack Obama for not taking a hard enough line on North Korea. Sometimes it seems as though Bush/GOP go out of their way to impose a double standard on the country.

Too bad no one else bothers to point out this hypocracy...

First Communist China, now North Korea? What about Cuba? They must be far more evil than the others.

Is it a Huff Post policy that every story about Jon Stewart have the word 'mocks' in its headline? Seriously.

Favorite    Flag as abusive Posted 11:48 AM on 06/27/2008

It's funny because it's true.

Favorite    Flag as abusive Posted 01:07 PM on 06/27/2008

The headline is wrong. Iran, not N. Korea, is the dot of evil. N. Korea is some kind of gaggle.

Bob Cesca for Prez.

Jon Stewart for Veep.
