As per wikipedia, "The occasion marks the joining of the British colonies of Nova Scotia, New Brunswick, and the Province of Canada into a federation of four provinces (the Province of Canada being divided, in the process, into Ontario and Quebec) on July 1, 1867.

To celebrate our neighbor to the north, Huffington Post brings you the ten hottest Canadian men and women. Some of the celebrities are hot, some have hot careers and some had hot careers. One thing they have in common is they're all Canadians we love.

This is misleading list -- it's more about actors you may not necessarily recognize as Canadian. Tom Green case in point.

Tricia Helfer, Adam Beach should be at the top of the list, but at least you got Evangeline Lilly. In fact, a third of the cast of Battlestar Galactica could be on this list (Grace Park, Tahmoh Penikett, Kandyse McClure, etc.).

First of all, it's a crime that Tricia Helfer was not included on the ladies' list. Same for Carrie Anne Moss.

Second, There is kind of a tongue in cheek aspect to the "Hottest men" selection. Aside from the shlubs like Seth Rogan and Tom Green, Will Arnett's photo looks like he's about to spit out a lugie, Ryan Reynolds looks like he's about to punch the photographer, and Hayden Christiansen's eyes are half closed.

This list was clearly compiled by Americans, however. Note how Scott Speedman's inclusion is listed as "honorary", rather than "honourary".

I'm one of those Americans who thinks of moving to Canada sometimes. I suppose emigrating somewhere would be the only way I'll experience living in a country with a government whose policies I mostly approve, sadly.

I've been to Vancouver and Victoria, years ago- So clean! The BC Ferries were quite a bit nicer than the Washington state ferries. I hear that there are quite a few beautiful islands off the west coast.
