A Philadelphia news radio station has rejected a Democratic ad that features an impersonator of President Bush thanking GOP congressional candidates for supporting the "Big Oil" agenda.

Philadelphia KYW-AM Vice President and General Manager David Yadgaroff said his station decided not to run the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee (DCCC) ad because it was worried its listeners would be misled.

"As an all-news station, we were concerned that our listeners would have been misled by usage of an impersonator in the creative delivery," Yadgaroff said in an e-mail sent to The Hill.

Who cares who delivers the line? As long as it's the truth and it's accurate. The producers should have used a Ronald Reagan sound alike, then the reBushlican lackeys would think it was god, and what is said is sacred.

I have to agree with this one - with all of the idiotic things Bush has said over the years it is just plain lazy to have to resort to an impersonator.

Yeah, that is sad.
No matter who wins in November, it will be nice to have a President that can complete a sentence.

Is it not obvious that the MSM has largely been controlled, for years, by the right wing?

As someone who listens to KYW on a daily basis (mostly for traffic reports, local news, and weather), I have always detected a subtle right wing bias. Not like FOX news obviously, but certain announcers as they are reading the news on air will throw out off the cuff comments revealing right wing bias, or the station will emphasize certain stories you'd expect the right wing to highlight ("News Flash: President Bush loves our troops!), as well as framing in a right wing fashion (there those who support the war and those who support the troops, these are the 2 "sides"). So I am not a bit surprised about this, though I will, as a listener, send them a letter. At least if they realize their listening audience isn't the same as the Rush Limbaugh audience they might at least make an attempt at some balance.

It's time to hit them in the wallet. Complain to their advertisers about the practice of censorship against Democrats.

We gave let them hold on to the Liberty bell and what did they do? They put a big crack in it. Can the Philadelphians really be trusted?

The context is true, the GOP is the Grand Oil Party...

If the station states that it is an not Bush, but an impersonator before of after the ad, there's no reason they should keep it off the air...

Stop shamelessly faltering them. Those are atributes they are aspiring to achieve some day when they climb up out of the muck.

The station manager's probably right. His gullible audience would believe anything Bush says.

"Philadelphia KYW-AM Vice President and General Manager David Yadgaroff said his station decided not to run the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee (DCCC) ad because it was worried its listeners would be misled."

If it were not so blatantly unethical, the statement quoted above would be funny.

"W" misled the feeble minded sheep for seven and a half years using every possible form of communication apparatus there is. He, along with his criminal water carriers, are still trying to mislead us.

Karma is either falling down on the job, or very late.

"David Yadgaroff said his station decided not to run the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee (DCCC) ad because it was worried its listeners would be misled."

By definition, that would mean he should refuse to air ALL political ads.
