Christie Brinkley Trial Put On Hold

CENTRAL ISLIP, N.Y. — Christy Brinkley's Long Island divorce trial has been put on hold _ and the model says she's praying for a settlement.

Lawyers declined to comment on the record Wednesday.

However, Brinkley was asked while leaving the courthouse if a settlement is in the works. She pressed her palms together as in prayer and replied: "It's what I hope and pray for."

The former Sports Illustrated model was married to architect Peter Cook for a decade before his affair with a teenager vaulted their troubles into the public light in 2006.

The trial has focused on the affair and Cook's online sex activities. He has apologized for both.

The primary issue has been custody of their children, ages 10 and 13. The dispute also includes properties Cook helped Brinkley buy in the Hamptons.

Sorry that 's BS. I'm tired of adulterous, abusive or whatever they've done men hiding behind their children, expecting the wife to protect him for their children's sake. He's a grown man and should have thought about the consequences of his actions before he indulged in them. I think Christie was absolutely right to let the press cover the trial because too many unfair deals are made in custody suits in either a closed court room or the judge's chambers. Besides the truth coming out now instead of in the form of tortured rumors is ultimately better for the children to hear.

If Peter Cook is ashamed of his actions, it's not his wife's responsibility to cover for him. He should try being a real man and take responsibility for his actions and stop making excuses for them.

Pay attention to the real saddness, which is immorality! Pornography, and it's consequences, are devastating! All wives, girlfriends, parents must be aware that Pornography is a cancer that will kill the infected host. It destroys the joy and natural draw to sexual love. Pornography forces it's partakers to enter into a contest in which, partakers, must seek acceptance from visual, non participants images. It forces, encourages, and creates a dependence upon the intake and participation in pornography. Once the addicted participant feeds the hunger, the more the participant seeks out all kinds of sexual deviant behavior. aka, sexual relations with underaged(as is the result of this sad saga for Christy's husband). It can lead to horrible eventualities, which are divorce, rape, being labeled a sexual predator, loss of prestige, loss of financial resources(jobs) and total distrust by friends and family.

I think that porn, like alcohol and other drugs, can be used as a tool if used IN MODERATION. Unfortunately, some people become addicted to porn and, like other addictions, it takes over their lives and destroys not only the user's life, but the user's relationships with the people around him (or her).
