Florida Rep. Adam Putnam doesn't think Barack Obama can win the South. But he predicts Obama's campaign strategy will cause Republicans significant down-ticket damage:

No, U.S. Rep. Adam Putnam, R-Bartow, doesn't think John McCain is in any real danger of losing Florida, given McCain's natural appeal to veterans, independents, and pro-Israel voters. But the Chairman of the House Republican Conference thinks Barack Obama's ability to turn out African-Americans voters across the south could pose trouble for some Republican incumbents in states that McCain will still carry.

"I think you'll see House members who won their last race by 60%-65% percent lose because of the turnout model that Obama brings,'' said Putnam after taping a Political Connections interview on Bay News 9. He wasn't talking about any Florida seats, but his pick for the five races to watch in Florida: the seats held by Democrat Tim Mahoney, by the Diaz-Balart brothers, by Tom Feeney, and by Ric Keller.

Another Republican congressman agrees -- but he thinks it's a good thing.

Meanwhile, McCain might be in trouble after all: a new poll of Missouri shows him only three points ahead.

It's not who votes, but who counts the votes. Anyone remember Florida in 2000, or Ohio in 2004?
Putzman needs to go away, sooner.

Karl Rove has single-handedly destroyed the GOP and now he'll collect his salary from Faux News to give play-by-play comment on its disintegration. I'll continue to visualize Rove, Shrub and Pump Action Cheney appearing on the speaking circuit live from a Federal Pen.

The Repubs have destroyed themselves. They didn't need any help doing it. I only know one or two people voting for Obama, but everyone I know is voting Dem in all the other races. The Repubs have only themselves to blame for the fact that they're going down in flames.

The people you know are idiots. Vote for the Dem ticket, except Obama? To quote McCain, "that's not change we can believe in."

The dominos have started to fall.
At the rate they are going the republicans will loose many seats in the next election.
When the American people realize that their choice is four more years of fighting the wrong war in the wrong country against the wrong enemy. An economy down the gutter. Gas and food prices climbing every day. Our nation’s debt being owned by China and Saudi Arabia do you really think the intelligent American citizen will vote for four more years of the same?

Who would waste their time interviewing that snot-nosed, pubescent? I've nick-named him "The Mouth of the House!" A wise man once told me, "If you think the particular politician is a total horse's a__, you should get to know the people that elected him." In Putnam's case, the "wise" man was indeed correct.

One day Adam Putnam will be running for President against Patrick Murphy. The ascent of Gen X ...

Nominay...
Took the time to Goggle both Putnam's and Murphy's official official web pages. By the time either of them is ready to run for president, much molding and honing will occur so I make no predictions. In my life, I've seen so many characters like Putnam come and go. May I suggest that you compare their present bios?

Adam needs to watch his own race. Doug Tudor is a strong candidate, we in Polk just have to get the word out and help him all we can. Polk is turning Blue in November!

So what it won't make any difference who is elected.

Then stay home on election day. If you can not see any difference then there is no reason to come out.

What natural appeal?
That clown McCain is killing us service members & veterans...

Why don't you think it matters? What about future conflicts? Don't you think McSame would be much more likely to use military force?

Republicans get elected by keeping the opposition from voting. Many of the folks who lose their home through foreclosure will be denied their right to vote. Their voter ID cards will not be forwarded to their new address -- per the instructions of the politicized post office -- but will instead be returned to the voting registrar who will then remove them from the rolls.

Anticipate at least one million people to be denied their right to vote nationwide on election day. Enough people will be turned away for McCain to be elected.

The only way to prevent this is if we Democrats have an overwhelming number of people showing up at the polls. Not 50% participation, but 90+% among Blacks and the young who favor Obama. Also, an overwhelming number of Democratic voters should vote in advance via absentee ballots -- at least two million votes nationwide in advance -- and then volunteer at the polls to help everybody else to show up.

"The only way to prevent this is if we Democrats have an overwhelming number of people showing up at the polls."

And yet "our" candidate does everything he can to piss off his base. This FISA vote was the last straw for me. If he cannot summon the spine to support and protect my basic civil rights, I see no reason to reward him with my vote.
