Cindy McCain: "In Arizona The Only Way To Get Around The State Is By Small Private Plane" (VIDEO)

Cindy McCain recently gave a rare private interview to CNN in which she disclosed her opinions on transportation in Arizona, her home state. The McCains have tried to distance themselves from elitism, but apparently Mrs. McCain believes that the only way to get around is by "small private plane."

I'm no one to talk because a relative just took my family across our state in his private plane.

Of course I actually realize that puts me, at least for the day, in an elite category and that not EVERYONE can do that.

I thought Arizona had a fine road system. Is she saying the road workers in her home state do a crappy job?

In a Free Market Libertarian world, there wouldn't be any roads at all, outside the city limits. They never would have been built, much less maintained. Nor bridges or public schools.

Rich people could get across the state in their planes; poor folks would have to go by horseback or foot.

I KNOW there are poly strategists out there that are reading this. You know the "machine" would be totally engaged if this was stated by a democrat. I want to see this clip on all news outlets, blogs, magazines and everywhere else Rove and crew would use. This is the only place I've seen this clip so far. What is the deal????

McCain and company are totally unengaged with the day to day of this country (and others). He can't use a computer, small private plane is the only option that occurs to her when traveling the state. Obama gets us. He is plugged into his email, blogs, blackberry, is raising 2 small kids by themselves, and has had a real job. Michelle worked for everything she had, as she didn't come from a wealthy family. Come on people!

I live in AZ and I can tell you that we do have roads here for the "not priviledged" small folks that don't have trust funds like Cindy McSnob.

Seven homes, small private planes, in-herited fortune of hundreds of millions - is it any wonder why Cindy cannot understand why some Americans are sometimes skeptical about the fairness of this country.

are there any isolated reservations in AZ where this might be true? There a lot of villages in AK that are only accessable via float plane. I think it's even more bizarre when she talks about just buying a plane because it was so much fun to fly. Million dollar purchases are just normal.

Yeah, when I moved to AZ 10 years ago, I felt so totally stupid crossing the AZ/NM border in my crappy Dodge truck. It was like everyone just stopped what they were doing and pointed at me, you know?
