Washington Post:

Despite her rough departure from the Clinton campaign during the primaries, former campaign manager Patti Solis Doyle said on Wednesday that she still considers Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton a friend -- even after going to work for Sen. Barack Obama.

Solis Doyle said she played phone tag with Clinton as she tried to inform her about her new position as chief of staff to Obama's future vice presidential nominee. In an interview with the Associated Press, Solis Doyle said she wound up sending Clinton an e-mail with the news.

"She's a friend of mine and I just wanted to, both on a personal and professional level, let her know what I was doing and make sure that she was, you know, good with it. And she was," the AP quoted her as saying.

Which is EXACTLY WHY she should not be trusted.

Hillary is praying for Barack to fail.

He's not dumb enough to choose Hillary as VP. He'd be safer choosing even a Republican like Hagel. Choosing Hillary would reignite the Democratic civl war and guarantee loss in November. The purpose of ending the primary campaign season as soon as possible was to give Clinton supporters time to get over the loss.

I wouldn'e be surprised if HRC was the one who got Sollis Doyle the position in the first place as aprt of an already pre-arranged agreement that GHRC is the Veep and they're just going through the motions right now. The Kult took great petty spite in this appointment at first hoping it was yet anopther move to put that Clin-ton woman back in her place in the kitchen, but really, if you think about it, putting a Clinton loyalist (and one who was even willing to fall on her sword for Clinton-on during the primaries) really contradicts that idea.

I'd be surprised. Clinton basically fired Doyle in March and accused her of gross mismanagement of campaign funds, even though Doyle had been sending her weekly emails.

Then HRC called in Bill to try to see where all the money'd gone.

It's nice they're still "friends". I wouldn't be.

Being magnanimous for the good of the party regardless of all the negative remarks, attacks and juvenile propositions intended to cause harm is the mark of character any successful and united endeavor or party mush have for their supporters. When supporters forget who the enemy really is for personal or selfish gain, we have a recipe for regression not progression. That fact that Hillary and Patty are still friends is something that many on the Obama side must take stock in and seriously consider. For the good of the party, not just whose side you think you are on.

C kicked her out of her staff position. She needed a job and she is supposedly good at what she does, so the O hired her.

Can't hold that against her.

I don't understand how a political operative who is almost universally viewed as incompetent and a failure can be assigned to be the VP candidate's chief of staff, when we don't even know yet who the VP candidate will be.

We have no idea whether he or she will even WANT this woman in that position, managing the VP candidate's campaign and finances.

Some things about Patti Solis Doyle, for the uninformed:

1) She supposedly would watch TV sitcoms at her desk during the campaign, while she was "supervising".

2) She gave herself the name "The Queen Bee" within Hillary's office in the White House, and later, during Hillary's Senate and VP campaigns.

3) She coined the term "Hillaryland" for Hillary's inner circle of top aides and advisors. Of course, "Hillaryland" was headed by Solis Doyle.

4) She grossly mismanaged Hillary's campaign finances, according to widely reported stories in the media, leading to the complete wasting of Hillary's campaign stash from her last Senate campaign, which was supposed to be used on getting her the nomination. This money supposedly "vanished" within months, under Solis Doyle's "supervision".

And this is the woman they are assigning to be the VP nominee's chief of staff, sight unseen by the VP nominee?

Smells of a political hook-up job by Hillary, to plant one of her incompetent hacks into Obama's campaign.

It doesn 't seem logical that Doyle would be hired to be the VP selection's second. Seems fishy as any veep nominee worth his salt would demand his/her own person in this spot. Can't believe the Obamba campaign could not understand this. They wanted her as she has information and, I guess, some expertise that is usable. The naming of this position satisfied Doyle and she is heading up information or the organization that the eventual nominee will be able to have and use. He/she selected would then have their choice to keep or replace her. If she is replaced then there would be other areas in the campaign that she could be used. Just a ploy.

I wouldn't cover for Hillary if I were you Patti. She's behaving like a spoiled little child, just like her husband, not returning phone calls. Unless of course it suits HER needs to do so. I really started having faith in Hillary, but with her consistent lack of standing up against the lunatic puma people, she proves yet again why I lost all my respect for her during the primaries.

“Should ‘CHANGE’ occur in November as polls indicate, we should see a lot of people from Illinois moving to Washington, D.C., and taking key spots in an Obama administration. Now is the time to anticipate these changes.”

The pitch by Dan Shomon, who was political director of Obama’s successful 2004 campaign for the Senate, is part of a growing effort by some supporters and associates of the senator to profit from his political success — and the possibility that he will be president of the United States a scant six months from now.

“We will be in Washington, D.C., August 4, 5, and 6, and we’re interested in scheduling a meeting with your government affairs team to discuss the changing political landscapes and our services and capabilities,” writes a partner in Dan Shomon Inc., a consulting firm based in Chicago.

Right. If they're still friends then Barack Obama's going to Jesse Jackson's house this weekend to help him clean out his garage.

On more gratuitous swipe at Hillary. Every time I read one of these snide remarks it just postpones my transformation from PUMA to Obama supporter. You guys need us. We don't need you. Until it stops I will continue to sit on my wallet. With Hillary we knew with certainty that the future of the nation would be better. All you have with Obama is the hope that it will be better.

Pray that on the first wednesday in November we don't collectively lament, "We should have nominated Hillary."

With Clinton, we know certainly she will continue the hardheaded foreign policies of the Bush administration and our country will continue to have blood on its hands. Do the PUMA people realize how childish they are in demanding our attention? They are purportedly adults and can make up their own minds as to how they vote. Why should we court them when Obama is raising enough money and doing fine in the polls? They don't care about voting, they care about venting and attention. Ignore them.

You/we/we all don't need a Democratic President?

Ok then, vote McCain and don't plan on coming back when Obama wins anyway.

You're wrong, we don't need you. All 2,000 of you "PUMA" hold-outs.

What a joke.

It's dramatic, how different (and happier, better, unstressed) she looks.

Oh, the book she could write, from the unique perspective of an insider on both campaigns! Too bad she's not the type to burn bridges.

Y'all I wouldn't be surprised if Hillary ends up as VP. I would rather have someone else but Obama knows what he's doing so I'll give him a pass if he goes in that direction. I think Obama and Hillary could do great stuff together if Bill Clinton would just go somethere and sit down and maybe take Jesse Jackson with him. Bill and Jesse could spend their time reminiscing about old school politics, while the rest of us are work with Obama and Hillary to change the country and improve the lives of regular folk.

It's NOT going to happen for many reasons.
1st Bill Obama would have to put a muzzle on him.
2nd Vetting They would have to disclose their finances and they won't.
3rd Ed Rendell hit it when he said the VP has to walk in lockstep with the Pres and not upstage the Pres.
4th Hillary is now looking to 2012 which she couldn't do very well as VP.
5th There are better choices out there for Obama.

It's not going to happen.

Phone tag? I don't think so. Avoidance by HRC undoubtedly. Which will be continued into eternity based on Hill's former behavior. You're not with me...then screw you.

I'd avoid her too if she didn't tell me she'd spent millions of dollars forcing me to loan it to myself.

That was the issue, Doyle overspent and kept it from HRC, damaging her campaign at a critical time when O swept the caucuses. Funny that it turns out Doyle's brother is pals with A xlerod, O's campaign manager. Hmmm.

If HRC can get over that, she's a saint.

Yeah, that must be it, Solis-Doyle intentionally overspent Hillary's war chest so her friend Hillary would lose the election to Obama, because Solis-Doyle's brother is friends with Axelrod's aunt's cousin-twice-removed.
