I Like ItI Don’t Like It
Blackberry Iphone

If you're a BlackBerry user, you're probably getting tired of hearing about all the things Apple's iPhone can do. Rumor even has it that a more iPhone-like BlackBerry is in the works. But don't despond: Your current trusty emailing device has a few tricks up its sleeve that you may not know about.

This week, I gathered up some useful shortcuts that come built into most of the BlackBerrys, even older models, made by Research In Motion Ltd. but not many owners actually use or know about them. Ironically, most of these shortcuts are conducted using a BlackBerry feature that the iPhone lacks: its physical keyboard. (The iPhone uses a virtual keyboard that appears on-screen only when needed.)

A few of my friends have iPhones and admittedly chose it for aesthetic reasons. And it *is* a beautiful phone. I've played with it and it is impressive, but I'm sticking with Blackberry because it is just as capable and has been my lifeblood in business for far too long.

I was at a conference a few months ago where many of the attendees had both an iPhone and a Blackberry. My conclusion after chatting with people about why: the Blackberry is the wife and the iPhone is the mistress.

No it doesn't. It uses RIM's own proprietary OS. Can you bother now?

Oh darnit! Is that REALLLLY the end of the story? Cuz I sort of wanted to give my opinion of the iPhone, as I own one. Shux. Oh well! Guess I'll cheer myself up by playing some music on my Ignorant Moron Device and jazzy video games as I listen.

Let me know when the Story starts up again! Hope you feel better soon!

And still the iPhone 3G is light years ahead.

Owning an iPhone is not a business investment. It's a fashion statement. Why can't people simply admit that and move on? Just like carrying a Blackberry is not a matter of fun. It is usually a sign that your boss requires you to be available for any nonsense 24/7. If you had to buy your own Blackberry it is a sign that you have no taste and are not even employed in an at least semi-important corporate position.

The Blackberry Bold, coming in August will have all of the bells and whistles of the iphone, including superior screen resolution, and desktop-style internet navigation. Plus, blackberry bold will have expandable memory and the ability to replace the battery very easily.

I'm a big fan of the blackberry physical keyboard, and I want to keep my professional dignity by not looking like a trendy geek.

There is no need to do any unlocking of a blackberry. Simply buy the iphone. You won't end up with carpal tunnel and you will be happier in the end!!
