CNN:

John McCain devoted a substantial chunk of his town hall meeting Thursday to drawing contrasts with Barack Obama on health care policy, stressing his opposition to the presumptive Democratic nominee's health care plan and noting the "great difference" between them on abortion.

McCain's strongest denunciation of Obama came when discussing the Democrat's health care plan, which would cost $50-65 billion per year but would not mandate insurance coverage for all adults, only children.

"My friends, we've seen this movie before," McCain said. "It was called 'HillaryCare' back in 1993, and we're not going to do it again. We're not going to have the government take over the health care system in America."

I'm sure he doesn't want to spar with Bill. He'd better leave his woman alone!

Wow, talk about shameless pandering! How embarrassing for Hillary. While no fan of hers of late, I'm actually offended for her that her life's work for universal healthcare has been reduced to a Republican campaign gimmick.

Heck I don't know what McCain is talking about. His spin against a healthcare plan is calling it "Hillarycare" is really an endorsement and not a criticism. Also, have you all noticed that McCain does nothing but whine and complain about Obama? I think the issues elude him and knows deep inside that the issues his running on don't amount to anything.

Ha, ha, you've got to just laugh at the ineptness of the man! Here his surrogates, especially one Carly Fiorina, are going after supposedly disgruntled Clinton supporters, and McCain is trashing Clinton for her health plan.

Given how popular Hillary's fighting to improve healthcare was with the "hard-working, WHITE" Reagan-Democratic base she won over so well throughout Appalachia and the rust belt, Obama's camp should EMBRACE this label wholeheartedly and have huge rallies with Hillary to stress their common determination to get affordable health care for the masses, as well as McCain's determination to keep the disastrous system for Middle America we have now. This is another stupid gift from McCain to Obama. McCain's campaign is the most inept I've ever seen, and I'm 65. He and his advisors are clueless, seemingly trying to run a campaign out of the Reagan-Gingrich playbook in an America that hates the Republican brand they created, because Middle America has been so hurt by it.

What McCain doesn't realize is that by linking Hillary's name with Obama's health care plan, he gave him a boost. It is not the same plan, of course, he was just trying to damage Obama, but he is to stupid to see the advantage this gives Obama. Gosh no, don't let the government take over health care, let the capitalists have at it. Insurance of any sort should never be for profit, it undermines the whole idea of it and we see, every day, the costs in terms of human pain and suffering. Make no mistake, however, Mr. Obama's plan is not Ms. Clinton's plan--just a watered-down version.

Obama's plan is "Hillarycare"? Sign me up! I'll take Hillarycare over anything McCain and the GOP has in store.

He thinks calling a health care plan "Hillary care" is an insult? Is he kidding? Elizabeth Edwards came out in support of Hillary's health care plan. A lot of analysts thought it was the best of the three plans offered by Edwards, Obama, and Clinton. And Americans overwhelmingly WANT single payer, universal health care.

Sometime I wonder if McCain has been sleeping though the past five years.
