Gore In Talks To Host Big Fundraiser For Obama In Tennessee

Those Obama supporters out there feeling left behind by Barack Obama's lack attention to Tennessee may be in for some excitement relatively soon. Post Politics has learned that a conference call took place this morning to make arrangements to bring the Democratic Presidential nominee to Nashville.

On the call were operatives in the Chicago campaign office of Barack Obama, Obama supporters here in Tennessee as well as a representative of former Vice President Al Gore, Beth Alpert.

The purpose of the call was to discuss the possibility for a Gore-hosted Obama fundraiser right here in Nashville, Tennessee before the Democratic National Convention in late August.

Preliminary plans call for two events. One would be a private high dollar affair possibly at the home of Al & Tipper Gore, the other a more public event at bigger location such as the Ryman Auditorium.

Is this what the media has sunk to? They actually think asking Al Gore if he wants to be Obama's vice president is a good question?
who in their right mind would think he would want to? Considering what is going on on the planet, penguins freezing to death, blue crab disappearing, the energy crisis etc etc etc, and Al Gore's expertise on global warming and energy you would think that they might be able to think of a better question to ask him.

Senator Obama can win Tennessee if he campaigns heavily there - trust me.
Not all Tennesseans are dumb, and they will expect Senator Obama to campaign in their state.

It would serve the Hillraisers right if it turned out that we doin't need their money. More importantly, they wouldn't be able to try blackmail anymore. I.e. "If you don't pay off Hillary's campaign debt AND make her #2 on the ticket, we will vote McCain!"

I hope Gore goes ahead with this and breaks a record for a single fundraiser.

No, Evan Bayh will not be the choice for Vice President.
Senator Obama said his choice will be the person he thinks will be a good president if something should happen to him- and not someone to help him win a state.
So, who in the Democratic Party will be a great successor to Senator Obama? Much as I hate to even consider it I think it might be Hillary (barf!).

Al Gore is a great politician. He reailly won the last election. Think how strong we would be as a nation had the Presidency not been stolen from him.

Hopefully, if Gore is not interested in the VP spot-which would be fabulous- I hope Senator Obama offers him a spot in his cabinet.

When Al Gore did not do enough to steam roll a draft dodger and brush aside an obviously incompetent bush, he allowed bush, 911 and the Iraq war, etc.
