Appearing on Anderson Cooper 360 tonight on CNN, Time Magazine columnist Joe Klein said that John McCain's comments Tuesday that Barack Obama is willing to lose a war to win an election were the most scurrilous he had ever heard by a major party candidate.

On his blog on the Time Magazine website, Klein wrote that the comment "smacks of desperation."

Thousands dead, thousands displaced, billions of dollars later, a war lasting longer than the US involvement in WWl or WWll. Who does McCain think will sign the peace accords to prove we won?

Stay tuned: the "Obama's anti-genocide position is insincere" (aka "Obama is pro-genocide") slur is worse. We should have a "how low can he go!" contest.

The more Obama hesitates in saying America has lost the war in Iraq the more he loses credibility with liberals.

Who else would President McCain put on the "Enemies List" of unpatriotic people?

.

Pure projection.

McSame's comment reveals McSame's thought, not the person attacked.

Sadly, McSame is desperately saying anything his handlers through at him.

We "lost" the war the minute President Dumbs**t changed the mission from a search for WMDs to Operation Iraqi Freedom. Iraq will never be a US colony, so what are we trying to win? Maybe by "win" McCain and Bush mean spend another trillion dollars.

We "lost" the war the minute we believed that it was a war about weapons of mass distruction.
This was obvious to most people of the world, except clearly the ignorant, gollable US citizens.

So McCain thinks Barack Obama would rather cause great harm to America than lose an election. Anyone who knows anything about Obama's life and his community service (while he passed up the big bucks at the big law firms) knows that is nuts.

With this statement, McCain has moved past just Bush's level of just being confused and every day talks more and more like a demented old man.

Just because you don't agree with the direction Obama would take the country doesn't mean he's a sinister manipulator who cares more about personal gain than his country. The same sort of twisted logic could be applied to McCain. I disagree with him on just about everything and cringe at the thought of him being my president, but I have no doubt he loves his country and is pursuing the office for the right reasons.

Why can't the right ever give that same benefit of the doubt to Democratic candidates?

Well Joe Klein, do you have any proof that McCain`s statement was untrue-WELL?

Simple logic proves it.

If we want to further erode America's standing in the world even worse than it already is, then for sure, McCain will be the next Prez......................

On the video I watched, the expression on McCain's face right after he uttered his loathsome remarks was eerie--it may have been telltale self-hatred, or perhaps it was just giving away his inner knowledge that he's gonna be hammered in November. Or, just a nasty little boy's grin. You figure it out....

The Democrats declared the war "lost" over a year ago, and had they gotten their way on troop withdrawal they would have been proven right.

If you're referring to statements made by Harry Reid. He never actually said anything like that. He said

"As long as we follow the President's path in Iraq, the war is lost. But there is still a chance to change course and we must change course. No one wants us to succeed in the Middle East more than I do. But there must be a change of course."

What was "lost" was the morality of this administration to attack a sovereign nation, killing, maiming and destroying for greed and power. Not to mention the morality of their enablers...

Victory and lost. No one can describe either. John McCain would not elaborate on victory in his op-ed iece to the NY Times, so they rejected it. The war will be lost shortly when the U.S. can no longer send $12 billion monthly to Iraq. Meantime the enemy has moved back to Afghanistan, while we are still in Iraq looking for "Victory"

It was lost over a year ago and is still lost today. The final reckoning has only been postponed. It's a no win situation.
