McCain Forgets Canada In Obama Attack

In an interview with NBC's Kelly O'Donnell airing tonight, John McCain questioned Barack Obama's decision to give a speech in Berlin while he's still a candidate. But MSNBC points out that he's forgetting a recent speech of his own:

"I would rather speak at a rally or a political gathering any place outside of the country after I am president of the United States," McCain told O'Donnell. "But that's a judgment that Sen. Obama and the American people will make."

However, on June 20, McCain himself gave a speech in Canada -- to the Economic Club of Canada -- in which he applauded NAFTA's successes. An implicit message behind that speech was that Obama had been critical of the trade accord. Also, McCain's trip to Canada was paid for by the campaign.

In fact, an ambassador's role in organizing McCain's speech led some Democrats to argue that he was violating the Hatch Act.

Just listen to what McCain says .... the reason why he (Obama) won his parties nomination..."is that he does not understand that failure in Iraq will have disastrous consequence in US security". Failure in Iraq started with the war itself that has left us with a Shia dominated government that will be much more inline with Iran. A War that has cost us a trillion that could have been used for our health care, infrastructure, energy. McCain is taking a very narrow view when he bases his Iraq analysis on a single tactic the "surge" that he says is winning the war meanwhile he never describes what is "winning". The future will tell as we leave behind a new Government, not a rooted democracy, whether or not the War was actually won regardless of the tactic.

McCain probably also forgot that, after the Bush State Dept. warned its folks in Berlin that NO diplomatic personnel abroad could attend any political events, that the freakin' US Ambassador to Canada met his campaign plane on the tarmac, set up the speech and went with him to the Economic Club of Canada on June 20. Amazing ..... hypocrite, thy name is Republican.

Hmmmm....well I am a Canadian who has been following the US 2008 Presidential campaign because it is far more interesting and entertaining than anything political that happens (or doesn't happen) in Canada...haha...Wow I can't believe that I missed McCain's visit to Canada...where was I?...well perhaps I missed it because I live on the westcoast or perhaps it was because his visit was a non-event to most Canadians...I am opting to go with the latter....sad but true

Another poster suggested that MSM (with their biased polling, etc. in Mc's favor) knows O will win with a landslide! That MSM keeps 2 horses in this race to keep their own ratings boosted!! For that reason (high ratings) there has to be 2 "viable" horses running!!
