Dems Oust Clinton-Backing Delegate Who Would Vote McCain

Wisconsin Democrats have ousted a delegate to their national convention for saying she would vote for Republican Sen. John McCain.

The Wisconsin Democratic Party's administrative committee voted today to strip Debra Bartoshevich of her status as a delegate to the Denver convention.

Bartoshevich was elected as a pledged delegate for Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton. But after Clinton dropped out of the race, Bartoshevich told the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel she would support McCain.

Bartoshevich says she made the comments during an emotional time and she hasn't made up her mind.

But the party says she violated rules requiring delegates to support its nominee.

If the party rules say you have to support the party candidate, then what's the problem?Debra Bartoshevich may have said what she did in an emotional moment but it doesn't change the fact she not only dissed Obama,she gave her approval of McCain.Now she says she's not sure.That's not backing the party candidate either.That's saying I don't want to miss the convention,but I won't eat crow either. IMHO. if she thinks McCain could be a better candidate,she's not a Democrat and I would rather see her leave the party.Let her go with Lieberman to the other convention.

Hasn't made up her mind about what? Whether to vote for a platform diametrically opposed to the one her chosen candidate was for? Whether to support a man who has ridiculed Obama's health care plan as "HillaryCare"? Whether to cast a ballot for the guy determined to overturn Roe v. Wade? Whether to refuse to support a candidate whose policy positions differ from her vanquished favorite's only in infinitesimal ways and instead help the guy whose party has spent years trying to destroy her?

Someone should tell Bartoshevich that the vast right wing conspiracy is not her friend. And now, neither is her own party.

With her empty, impotent, nonsensical threat (someone should tell her McCain is not now, nor has he ever been, in the running to be the Democratic nominee), Bartoshevich managed to marginalize herself right out of the convention and into the realm of embarrassing footnote/potential Trivial Pursuit question twenty years hence.

And that's more than she deserves.

It isn't about puppets and you know it. Anyone who plans to vote the opposition has lost his or her right to be a delegate. If she wants to have a free vote, fine, just make sure she is stripped of her delegate status first.

Like this woman, most of Hillary's angry supporters are not angry because they are women, but because they are, in effect, Democratic Jewish neocons. They don't trust Obama on Israel, so they are supporting McCain. Hillary was on the record for her wealthy AIPAC supporters as being willing to "obliterate" Iran any time it became necessary for Israel. Obama's, fortunately, not so committed to a Dem neocon stance. Besides, he's independent of rich neocon Jews, because he doesn't need their money, since he raises so much on the Net. This is why people like Hillary's supporter don't trust him. They know they can't influence him with financial threats, the way they've influenced everyone since Reagan.

If you "strip" her vote before she votes, then neither Obama or Clinton will get her vote.

The outhor of the article could do a little research and site the "rule" about "supporting" the candidate of the pledged delegate and what that means.
Also do the rules say "the party" can/must "strip" Debra Bartoshevich of her status as a delegate. How do they determine "support"?
