Novak Victim Speaks: "Bob Novak Is The One That Hit Me? ... That Makes It A Great Story!"

The Examiner (link currently down) reports that the man injured by Robert Novak didn't even know who hit him:

When columnist Bob Novak struck a pedestrian Wednesday with his black Corvette, the story became ripe for late-night talk show fodder. a handful of chuckles around Washington

But, believe it or not, the story has taken another unexpected turn: The individual whom Novak hit, Don Clifford Liljenquist, had no idea that it was the legendary journalist who had injured him (Liljenquist, who is both elderly and homeless, has been recuperating at George Washington University Medical Center).

Liljenquist was surprised with the information during an interview with WMAL's Troy Russell:

WMAL: Do you know who hit you?

LILJENQUIST: Well, they told me that they had his license number.

WMAL: The man who hit you is a famous newspaper reporter, did you know that?

LILJENQUIST: Do you know who it was?

WMAL: Yeah, his name is Mr. Novak, Bob Novak.

LILJENQUIST: Bob Novak?! Bob Bovak is the one that hit me?! Well everybody knows who Bob Novak is, he's a famous journalist ... I was struck by Bob Novak?! Well I think that makes it a great story!
