It looks like fun. It will be good to see a grown up movie for a change.

Too little, too late. How about a film about the Beltway fascists who stay on after Bush goes to hell! Expose the criminal leaders and lobbyists of the corportocracy. They change clowns like Bush the same way they change their underwear.

i probably wont go see this movie unless W is swinging from a rope. at the end of the movie, or in real life. Which ever happens first.

I love the line about stop acting like a Kennedy, you're a Bush.

This should be another mildly entertaining piece of fiction from the angry O. S. If only America was more like Camelot.

I agree with Nato Green. Too late. Hollywood makes movies to make money. No surprise there. And the movie industry certainly has it's lobbyists working on their behalf, so can't stir the pot while it's boiling, or something like that. Bottom line, America is stupid. We swallowed the bs on Iraq and elected Bush to a 2nd term! Well, most of us didn't, but the good ol' boys and gals in Florida got him in. I only come back to HuffPo once in a while for old time's sake, and gave up caring years ago. Either Obama will be elected or the Repubs in rural south and their stronghold areas will rig some controversy to squeeze McCain in. Pessimistic? Uh, yeah. Now, who wants to go out to the movies and pay $10 to see a remake?

I tend to agree with Bushwhacked. It's all about the money. After Obama refused to fight the FISA bill and thereby at least try to defend the constitution, I nearly lost all hope that We The Sheeple will ever become We The People.. Oh, I'll probably vote, and probably for Obama... But like all of the other times, It'll be a protest vote, against someone and not actually for someone..

Not too long ago when passing out leaflets for Wes Clark ( which I now know was a huge mistake! ) I met too many people who handed them back saying something like, "Doncha' get it? It's all preordained. This is just make believe. The big shots own all the candidates. It doesn't matter who's elected. It doesn't matter what we think. Wise up, sucker!"

I was stunned! How could people be so stupidly passive! But maybe now I'm beginning to see the light.

This movie looks really stupid.

It's exactly what I would expect from a Bush hating liberal like Stone.
09:43 AM on 07/31/2008
WHy when someone makes a movie of Bush , you call him a Bush hating liberal...From what I can see there are plenty of Republicans who don't like him either....
02:13 AM on 07/31/2008
How can you tell from a one minute trailer?
05:13 PM on 07/30/2008
I usually don't go to the movies, preferring to wait until they come out on CD's etc.....BUT...this one I'm going to see in the theatre.................too bad it's not our NOW.......it amazes me that this dolt/fool ever became president. OH WELL, THERE ARE MANY MANY IGNORANTS OUT THERE.........AND WE'RE ALL SUFFERING FOR IT NOW........................
04:45 PM on 07/30/2008
No -- God -- why would his father compare him to a Kennedy? and which one? unfair line Stone threw in about the noble Kennedy's- unfair line....
11:25 AM on 07/31/2008
Let me first get this out of the way: I firmly suspect Bush, et al should spend the rest of their lives in jail. But your "noble Kennedy's" remark is rather humorous... Thanks, I needed a giggle.
But I digress.
Sure, Stone's film is based on recent history which most here are all too familiar, therefore an extremely predictable movie... Most also know what actor said what to whom is 90% fiction channeled by Stone and/or the script writer and actors, etc.. That is, the dialogue may be how Stone, et al, imagined, or it may only be in the form of various protagonists, i.e., othen based upon a boring and predictable movie formula when needed to liven up the script.. For instance, in that rather oafish "Kennedy" reference, Bush senior is probably merely a needed protagonist. But I suspect you're right, maybe the script is not ready for prime time and never will be.

Shouldn't this film be rated NC-17?

There goes Hollywood again - glamorizing drugs, drinking, and gambling for the masses.
11:08 PM on 07/30/2008
On the contrary!

"R" for "required" viewing!
Kids should know who was responsible for the world they're going to have to live in.

But W doesn't rate " the category that includes Hitler, Stalin, Mussolini, Pol Pot "; they were maniacs who knew what they were doing. (Well, maybe not Mussolini..) W is just a dumb tool. Of course, that doesn't mean he shouldn't be punished for his sins.

CAN'T WAIT !! YEahh

Wow! If Stone isn't already on the TSA no-fly list, he will be now, wow! Thank god the McCarthy hearings failed.
12:54 PM on 07/30/2008
I just don't want to watch anything with Bush on it!!! I love Stone, but no bush!!!!
12:23 PM on 07/30/2008
I worked for Oliver years ago and can't wait. Stanley Weiser, the writer, and Oliver were roommates at Yale and were there at the same time as W., so there is some first hand view to this. Stanley is an extremely thoughtful and smart guy. Expect a balanced view along the lines of Bush = party boy and spoiled, but he also has a drive and goes to a level of commitment that is heroic.
