WASHINGTON — A biopsy of a small patch of skin removed from Republican Sen. John McCain's right cheek showed no evidence of skin cancer, doctors said Tuesday.

"No further treatment is necessary," Michael Yardley, a spokesman for the Mayo Clinic in Scottsdale, Ariz., said in a statement released through McCain's presidential campaign.

The GOP nominee-in-waiting had the skin removed Monday as a precaution during a regular checkup with his dermatologist near Phoenix.

The Arizona senator, who suffered severe sun damage from his 5 1/2 years in Vietnamese prison camps, gets an in-depth skin cancer check every few months because of a medical history of dangerous melanomas. He has survived three bouts of melanoma that included four lesions.

They should keep the biopsy and throw McCain away.

This is simply wonderful news for the McCain family. I'm very glad that Senator McCain is healthy, and continue his service to our nation. I am not a McCain supporter in his race for the presidency. But, as a cancer survivor I can appreciate that nature of some of Senator McCain's recent medical experiences. I wish to extend my warm wishes to him personally for his continued good health, and the well-being of McCain family.

What's the difference? His politics are toxic and malignant. So what if he skates through a biopsy?

How many uninsured have the same medical benefit? How many insured?

Is this another CBS cover up?

It is good news but it does not take away the fact that he still is basically deteriorating or rather is more prone to have diminished health with his age and will continue to diminish in health with his age! He is not as sharp or fresh as he needs to be to be the President!

"The Arizona senator, who suffered severe sun damage from his 5 1/2 years in Vietnamese prison camps, gets an in-depth skin cancer check every few months because of a medical history of dangerous melanomas." Did the North Vietnamese keep American POWs chained outdoors in the sun? I am not trying to be snarky - I am just curious. My wife had an uncle who spent 3 years in a Japanese POW camp during WW II, and I had an uncle who was MIA in Europe for many months (he did not survive).

Wow. The one day pathology report.
Most take at least three days.
Does Medicare pay for rush jobs? My Medicare doesn't.

When I was a kid my mother told me not to talk about people and always say my prayers. I grew up and I still always say my prayers.
