What does Britney Spears think about being included along with Paris Hilton in John McCain's latest political ad?

A representative from the 42West public relations firm declined to make a substantive comment to the Huffington Post, saying only, "why would we want to get Britney Spears involved in presidential politics?"

Sane enough. Rick Davis, perhaps you can answer that one?

How ironic that Spears and Hilton have both supported Repuglicans in the past. They should be thrilled to be featured in a John McBush ad, obviously they both plan to vote for him.

The oldsters in the McCain camp forgot that many young 1st-time voters actually like Paris and Brittany, having grown up with them, regardless of their youthful discretions and public indiscretions, so he is dis-enfranchising a portion of the youth vote. But just as stupid, offending one of the richest Republican families in America (who gave the max to his campaign), the Hilton's, was also probably not a smart move. Does McCain's camp even consider who they're slamming before the slam them or that Paris and Brittany are (or is that were?) McCain supporters, rather than O'Bama supporters? And, even more ironically, many Republican fund-raisers are held at the Hilton's hotels. I guess now they'll be holding them at the Days Inn or the Comfort Inn, so as to not blur the lines. When you get so desperate to win that you portray your own supporters as intellectual idiots and incur the hurt and dismay of a well-known Republican billionaire family - the Hiltons -the question is "What were you thinking?" or "Do you think at all?"

Hmmm. There are two very weird undercurrents in this ad:

(1) McCain is equating Obama to dumb blonde white female 20-something celebs (when Obama isn't dumb, isn't white, isn't female -- or would McCain rather have us forget? Until the next time, anyway, when he can equate Obama to scary radical black male activists?) and

(2) Yes we all make fun of pop culture, but it is our pop culture, and there's something oddly condescending in not just the tone of the ad -- McCain's implied and direct trashing of anything that captures the popular imagination in the United States, for whatever reason -- but in his willingness to use Britney and Paris in a campaign ad without their endorsement as an attack against pop culture and youth.

I think Hilton & Spears have more honor & integrity than McCain -- at best/worst they are overprivileged brats; McCain's evils are far worse than that.

No truth to the rumor that originally McCain wanted the ad to compare Obama to Mae West and Marlene Dietrich . Younger heads prevailed.

Spears and Hilton should sue the McCain campaign for slander. I laud Spear's camp for speaking out and telling the McCain campaign to back off. John McCain is looking more and more desperate every day.

The Hiltons kindly reminded McCain that they donated $4600 to his campaign and requested that he not use their daughter in his political ads. What a chump...

I can't believe the photo of Britney Spears at the top page of this article. She looks like the wrath of God arising from the abyss.

All the comments are relative...but the real issue is that this ad is an insult to Obama and Britney and Paris...as well as Woman, as one of the bloggers points out.

Obama has become very "popular"...and deservingly so...but that is because of what he represents...who he is...all of his characteristics...he speaks well because he is intelligent...he is the type of LEADER...(not celebrity) that a lot of people are looking for right now. McCaine is trying to take Obama's positive attributes and make them into something negative. When Ronald Reagan came on the scenes, he too spoke well and looked good doing it...and although in his own right, he was a "celebrity", nobody (ncluding McCaine) accused him of being such...he was a LEADER that the country was looking for at that time. McCaine and all those who think this ad was good...are just plain ole-fashion jealous of Obama...period.!!

Who did MC Cain hire to do his ads? Kevin Federline?
Seriously. Someone is spending piles of money taller than Cher on this nonsense. If you want to ask a real, probative question about McCain, ask this one.

WHY did John McCain approve that message?

Maybe he was too busy to watch something with his name on it, in the heat of a campaign. Maybe they put it together while the Senator was dozing off.

what did Britney say about Bush?

From "Fahrenheit 911": Brit said that it was our duty to support the prez, didn't sound all that bright doing it either. This is how they pay her back. Imagine my surprise. At any rate, she's older (possibly even a little wiser, time will tell...), so let's give her a break and just shred the McCampaign for their shenanigans.

Don't ask me to let Paris off the hook, though... ; )

This seems like an ad for Obama because it proves McCain lies. We all know Obama supports alternative fuel to reduce the demand for oil. McCain wants to solve the oil crisis with more oil to please his rich oil lobbyist buddies. We also know that Obama wants to raise taxes on those making more than 200K per year so he can give tax cuts to the middle-class which will boost the economy. McCain is reaching pathetic new lows which I believe the public will reject.

Wow, if Britney doesn't want to stoop this low, the republicans must be really, really low... Oh, the irony, to have Britney teach them class...
