Jim Cramer: "[Jimmy] Carter...May He Rest In Peace"

Jim Cramer: "[Jimmy] Carter...May He Rest In Peace"

CNBC madman Jim Cramer visited corporate cousin MSNBC Thursday morning for an appearance on "Morning Joe" — but it may have been too early for him, as he mistakenly said "may he rest in peace" in reference to (still living) former President Jimmy Carter.

A very confused Joe Scarborough and Mika Brzezinski (whose father served as Carter's National Security Advisor) had to remind Cramer that it's Gerald Ford, and not Jimmy Carter, that has passed away.

"Can we have an Ambien scorecard," Scarborough asked his producer, "of how many people wander onto the set still on Ambien?"

Watch (fun starts about 2:45 in):

Transcript:

Jim Cramer: Carter being — you know, again I always have to say the same thing because I am a sweet guy — may he rest in peace. It's just not fair....

Joe Scarborough: He's still alive.

Mika Brzezinski: What are you, what?

Scarborough: Jimmy Carter? He's still alive.

Brzezinski: What?

Scarborough: See, you're so deliriously happy taht you don't even know which Presidents...

Cramer: Okay scratch that.

Scarborough: Gerald Ford's gone, Jimmy Carter's still with us. Don't be scared, Mika.

Cramer: I get confused for heaven's sake. It was a bad era, I like to put it past me.

Scarborough: Hey Chris Licht [Executive Producer], can we have an Ambien scorecard of how many people wander on the set still on Ambien?

Update: This is not the first time Cramer has been on "Morning Joe" and said "rest in peace" regarding Jimmy Carter. He also appeared on the June 16 program and said, "If Jimmy Carter had never been president, may he rest in peace..." He excused himself, saying, "people make errors all the time on TV."
