Gawker has footage of the brother of Bruce Ivins, the suspected anthrax mailer, on CNN's American Morning. Ivins is surly throughout the entire interview, concluding it by telling John Roberts that his brother can "go to hell."

Suicide. Yeah, right.

I'm "from Missouri" on this one. But even if the feds DO lay out all their evidence, how can we trust them to have a) not manufactured it; and b) to have drawn accurate conclusions? There was too much at stake for W's presidential "legacy" and so little time left in his term. It all has the sickening odor of convenience with overtones of something more nefarious.

We all know our government worked with the Army to choose a scapegoat, who had knowledge of how to handle anthrax and distribute it.
Then they get on the media airwaves with information that anthrax came from Iraq.
There are only 2 places in the world that develop that type of anthrax, and its from US army labs.

http://www.globalresearch.ca/index.php?context=viewArticle&code=ROS20061212&articleId=4129

"If impartial scientists could have performed genetic reconstruction of the anthrax found in letters mailed to Senators Daschle (D-S.D.) and Patrick Leahy, (D -Vt.), "the trail of genetic evidence would have led directly back to a secret but officially-sponsored US government biowarfare program that was illegal and criminal" in violation of biological weapons conventions and US laws, Boyle said. "

Convenient that anthrax went to only democrats too in Congress, no republicans got any.

Convenient, indeed--especially, given that Tom Daschle was the Senate Majority Leader who, in the days immediately following 9/11, led the Congress in refusing to give the Bush Administration the domestic wire-tapping authority it sought. Then there's Senate Judiciary Chairman Patrick Leahy, who, like Daschle, stood in opposition to the proposed Patriot Act. Then, of course, there were the network news anchors who would broadcast such opposition. (Note that no one from Fox News was targeted.) The Florida tabloid newsman? An expendable guinea pig?

An earlier suspect, Harvard biophysicist Dr. Don C. Wiley died in a mysterious car accident on an Arkansas highway bridge in November 2001. Odd.

Senator Daschle is now calling for an investigation into the FBI probe that's now silenced another scientist. I hope the senator has some good bodyguards.

My stomach hurts.

does anyone remember that simpson's episode where principal skinner addresses his school for the first time and flubs a line. The school assembly breaks into mocking laughter and he sighs and says, "i've lost them forever." That's what Jon Roberts must have felt when Jon Stewart showed that lame picture of him as a VJ.

Pure sleaze.
Thank you cnn for that brilliant "journalism".
The producers obviously didn't care about the mental state of this man.
If my brother just killed himself after being linked to terrorist attacks, I would be pretty drunk too.

if there was EVER a need for an independent investigator to look into a "situation" this has got to be it.
Meanwhile perhaps it would be a prudent measure to SHUT DOWN ALL government weapons labs until this apparently grossly incompetent Human resources system can be re-evaluated.

But I sure ain't gonna be holdin' my breath for that (but I might be wise to consider a new personal microfiltration system for good measure)

Okeee.. Why is all of this beginning to sound like the first draft of a first time spy novel? Suddenly, after the man is dead, he cannot defend himself (Does anyone else remember Bill Casey?)
and we're up to our hip pockets in media all in a lather to tell us about this fellow who's a cross between Charlie Manson and Jack the Ripper.
It's too pat. Someone is overplaying their slim hand on this one. I have no proof of anything, but I have spent a long time in the entertainment industry. You always learn a little slight of hand if you hang about with entertainers. As such, I know mis-direction when it's laid on with a trowel rather than a teaspoon. Plus I'm the suspicious type when someone tells me to"Look over there", the first thing I do is to keep looking "Right over here."
There are still to many questions. and this IS an election year. I want more answers, without the media hype. But somehow, I doubt they will be forthcoming.

This reminds me of David Kelly who conveniently "committed suicide" in Britain over his doubts about the Iraqi WMD claims.

Unfortunately the media has already determined its angle for this story, and it seems that all we will be spoonfed (or trowel-fed) on this matter will only serve to further this angle.

It would be interesting to find out where his brother works and if that employment requires a security
clearance.

I smell a disinformation campaign big time.

Drunk or sober...I don't know; however, he agreed to be interviewed on this program and they deserve what they got - a bittter, lonely old man with enough vitriol against his brother to make their audience squirm. Disgusting on both sides!

Useless tv "journalism" if you ask me. Sounds like the Bushies are tying up some loose ends before they leave DC.

That brother would've talked trash regardless of the purpose of the interview. Imagine if CNN called cuz Bruce Ivins had rescued a little baby out of a burning house - that brother still would've been saying the same stuff. Not a very insightful interview. CNN might wanna ask a few question first before they go live with a lunatic. Personally I think the FBI should be investigating this brother too!

I'd like to know why the suspect was allowed to work in a highly confidential job of extreme national security for 35 years, while the Feds knew that for 35 years he was a danger and menace to society, this according to his psychiatrist who had known about this for 35 years?? How did he get such a high level job in the first place?? And after decades of threats and apparent behavioural problems, why did they keep him in the job?? And why was it the family that said he committed suicide, with no independent confirmation by the police, FBI, doctors, hospital, other govt agencies or anyone else??

Something is very wrong with this story. Sounds like Lee Harvey Oswald all over again, as someone pointed out yesterday. ;)

..

Indeed. It's a thought that occured to many of us old enough to remember the white-washing all around Oswald and Ruby.

But that was all just an amazing coincidence.

How many coincidences make a FACT?

It also sound as though the brother had been drinking at the time of the on air "interview" by Roberts.

So you can get all your honest news from ABC CBS and NBC? I do hope you stick with PBS only.

It seems to me that the brother was put on air to discredit the dead man and to help put a dislike or distrust in the people's minds to qualify his death.

To me, this is just another rethug "smoke and mirrors" campaign to cover their a*ses and to help keep this administration out of the slammer for doing something like this to their own people.
