"Jimmy Justice" Videos: Vigilante Films Cops Breaking The Law In New York

He calls himself "Jimmy Justice," a self-styled "cop-arazzi," armed only with a video camera as he prowls the streets of New York looking for law enforcement officers who are breaking the law. His targets are illegally parked city government vehicles -- particularly cars of traffic cops blocking bus stops, sitting in "no parking" zones or double-parked.

Cop cars blocking fire hydrants make him particularly incensed.

"Something like that is just despicable," Jimmy fumed, pointing to a police enforcement vehicle parked next to a fire hydrant on 33rd Street on Manhattan's West Side on a muggy July afternoon. "They're never allowed to block a fire hydrant -- but they do it."

He posts his best videos on YouTube and sends regular e-mail to the union representing the city's traffic enforcement agents, pointing out the most egregious parking offenses. And he has gotten results, he said, with some parking enforcers being fined because of his videos.

"I'm using a video camera as a weapon," he said. "I believe a video does not lie."

How many people do you know that have been arrested for parking in front of a hydrant? You get a ticket, end of story. And of course there's a caste system at work. Is there anyone out there who thinks of meter maids as real cops? My whole point is the Jimmy is a coward because chooses to attack those who can't do anything about it. Let him go after the actual NYPD if he's such a crusader. I can guarantee they won't simply turn away from him.

We need many more like this guy. No one respects the law anymore , because the law enforcers dont respect it themselves. They have become the Do as I say, Not as I do, police. Its disgusting, and the only way these "goons" who are head soaked with the power of the badge will once again become law abiding is by more people documenting and publicizing their illegal actions. Next time you see a police car running a red light, or using their lights and sirens to go through an intersection , only to pull into the next gas station and grab a donut or use the bathroom, call 911 and report them. Give the car numbers and exactly what happened. enough people start doing this, it will have to slow it down some if nothing else. I would hope

Just in case anyone get's the bright idea- this is totally ILLEGAL in the great liberal state of MASSACHUSETTS - if the guy who video taped rodney king being beaten had done it in massachusetts, the police never would have been charged, and the video taper because he did so with out everyone;'s knowledge and consent- would be in jail - there was a case like that here and the justices argued for the government that to allow people to monitor their government by taping or video taping them would cause the public to distrust the government was the justices logic in the ruling. That's MASSACHUSETTS for you, so liberal - right, they have a "camp" for "marijuana treatment" of youthful "offenders' on an alcatraz like island out in Boston Harbor called Long Island - you are not allowed to drive to it and the bridges are very long and dangerous - if you get out there like I have, all the black kids are on the right behind razor wire and in orange jumpsuits, the white kids are on the left and neither behind razor wire or in the jumpsuits - and we have a black governor! Tell me why some enterprising investigative reporter - why can't these kids and their parent document how and why they got there thru police and other government insituition's lies and conspiracies to make money at the expense of others and so as to "Clean"society" (scrub white)? Because we can't - it's illegal!

You will see that this personal campaign actually paid off and for at least a few months, cops behaved a little better. Only a few months though.

I'd like to know, where are the checks and balances?

Actually, THEY should be doing what he's doing, but unfortunateky the American MSM is reduced to nothing more than the propaganda branch of a despotic government. I worked for a police dept. here in Wyoming for six years. They are some of the most evil, corrupt, dishonest human beings I have ever personally known.

He isn't going after the real cops. Those are all traffic cops. They don't carry guns and they can't arrest you. All they do is write parking tickets. They can't even pull you over. This guy isn't a hero. He's going after an already despised and powerless group. we all hate traffic cops. Let him go after a real cop for a parking violation, then I'll respect him.

So being a traffic cop makes you less of a cop? What is this some kind of cast system within the police force? The fact he's trying to make is that traffic cops are breaking the law by breaking traffic rules. If you or I did those things we'd be hit with a hefty fine or hauled off to the clink.

Ol' Jimmy has a point. Its great that he alerts the cops to their misdeeds but, he sounds like a petulant child as he speaks to the cops in question. Granted, the cops DID park in front of a hydrant, but they deserve to be shown a great deal more respect than what JJ immaturely shows them.

Keep in mind that cops are there to protect us when we are in trouble, or hurt. They should be held accountable for their wrongs, but also recognized for their service.

Keep up the good work of policing the police, just drop the 'tude'......
