Anderson Cooper Loves Project Runway, Hates (But Pretends To Know Nothing About ) The Lohan Family

Anderson Cooper guest-hosted "Live! with Regis and Kelly" Tuesday morning and shared more information on his trashy TV habits: he loves Project Runway, but can't stand Living Lohan!

"I like this year on Project Runway the woman who likes leather," he told Kelly Ripa, doing his best imitation of 42-year old contestant Stella, who hails from Queens.

But Anderson reserved his best Long Island accent for Dina Lohan, star of Living Lohan, which he referred to as "the worst show that I cannot watch, and I must say I've watched it maybe 4 or 5 times."

Now, ever the serious newsman, Anderson doesn't really follow celebrity news or these sorts of shows — they're just distractions from his depressing day job, as he told Kelly (and told Ellen last fall). And the Lohans? He's not really quite sure who they are either.

"Living Lohan is just atrocious," he said. "I mean, these people — do you know about these people? I didn't know anything about these people. Apparently they're quite well-known. And there's one, Lindsay Lohan, who is apparently quite famous for doing all sorts of things. She's not even in the show. So somehow her mother got a show, because of this person who's not even on the show....They constantly refer to this person who is never seen on the show. So I guess people are hoping maybe this other person, Lindsay, is gonna show up, but until then we're stuck with these horrific people."

Of course, Anderson has referred to the Lohan family on numerous occasions on AC360:

• May 29, 2007: "And the shot that landed Lindsay in the tabloids and back in rehab. What kind of rehab is Lindsay Lohan looking forward to? One hint, it's first class all the way. That's coming up."

And, who is Cooper to judge Linsay Lohan? This is someone who write an "autobiography". But purposely spins the hell out of it re:his "alleged' gayness to sell books. How did AC get his start? He forged a press pass and lied his way into Bosnia to get his big break. Who's the bigger hypocrite?

The only person more objectionable than Kelly Ripa (her voice makes my ears bleed) is Anderson Cooper (performance artist).

With a fake war that will plunge the United States into an irreversible obscuring decline, gas and food prices at an all time high, the economy and housing market tanking, a 9.5 trillion dollar U.S. debt and an environment that is collapsing around us...thank goodness we can watch Dancing with the Stars and Regis & Kelly. Talk about fiddling while Rome burned.

What a tremendous waste of four minutes.

I think he's joking. It is possible, however, to live in America and not know who Lindsay Lohan is. If you don't watch crappy pseudo-romantic comedies, how would you know her? And if you didn't, then Living Lohan would seem even more inane, because it relies entirely on audiences recognizing the only talented member of a ridiculously ambitious family. It's a pretty amusing joke, that the person who made the show possible isn't on it.
