Daily Mail:

Throughout a bitter two-year divorce from Heather Mills, Paul McCartney showed great magnanimity in maintaining a dignified silence.

But surely none could have predicted the former Beatle's first words about Miss Mills since the split would be so affectionate.

Sir Paul has made an extraordinary step towards peace by penning his former wife a love song. He has recorded the acoustic ballad My Soul in collaboration with Asian-influenced electronic music guru Nitin Sawhney.

The track is to be released on Sawhney's new album London Undersound in October.

Its warmth towards Heather will surprise those who watched the increasingly acrimonious divorce between the couple come to a messy conclusion on the steps of the High Court earlier this year.

McCartney is trying to make that 60 million bucks back. Cause otherwise this would make him kinda stupid.

It's a bit nicer than the song John wrote about Paul, after their
breakup = How Do you Sleep.

Paul is a gentleman.

I wonder if it's like Adam Sandlers love song in Wedding Singer...

Maybe Paul wrote that song because Mills, though egregious, is the mother of his little daughter. Paul is a great guy.

You can "love" and not be in love. That's what "All You Need is Love" is about- not having sex with the world, but loving it- make Love not War, etc. I'm shocked by his compassion in this instance- I myself have grown to hate the women- as have most Beatle-Lovers. Interesting example, and contrast here- no pre-nup agreement, loving words after an ugly divorce- this guy really does walk the walk. Even made peace with Yoko. The Beatles were and are the Real Deal. No, he can't sing and write like he used to, and he needs a better dye job (who's Ringo using?)- but this is a great man in this world.

Beatles4ever. Leave Paul alone.

H.Mills? - just a distraction for a great musician, like Yoko for Lennon. Linda was too, but at least she was a good person.

Paul, time to stop dyeing your hair. It looks ridiculous. Be proud of your age.

While he is at it, put down the reefer. The weed has made him soft in the head. Silly Love Songs 2008 for Mucca? I still have a soft spot for the lug, though.

Dora:

I haven't cared for most of Paul's post-Beatles music. A few gems, but a lot that is mediocre, derivative, and corny. Regardless, the man is brilliant. But washed up? In what way? He still appeals to the generation that came of age listening to his music. Innumerable individuals and couples no doubt regard many of his songs as "their special songs." What McCartney can't do is pen a credible current pop hit that will appeal to today's young people, which doesn't make him washed up. As Across the Universe proved, his and Lennon's music, can still sound fresh. Look at McCartney's publishing catalogue. It contains a staggering number of songs. Now, that's a life.

Find it hard to believe Macca wrote a "love song" to this dingbat! Don't tell me he's still carrying a torch ... what is he, some kind of glutton for punishment? Don't even go there, Paul! Bad enough you've got to maintain ties with her because of your young daughter.

Hey, Paul's the best, but analyzing McCartney's lyrics is like analyzing the brilliant legacy of George "W"(orst) Bush.
