New Group Plans Campaign Targeting GOP Donors

Nearly 10,000 of the biggest donors to Republican candidates and causes across the country will probably receive a foreboding "warning" letter in the mail next week.

The letter is an opening shot across the bow from an unusual new outside political group on the left that is poised to engage in hardball tactics to prevent similar groups on the right from getting off the ground this fall.

They went through all of that just to call the guy a feckless nut job. Sort of "hey, look at the crazy left wing wacko".
It started with words like hardball and foreboding and I got fooled into thinking it would actually be informative and have enlightening. They tricked me again.

This is a ridiculous effort by small people seeking attention.

The Republicans will laugh heartily at Tom Matzzie, and his group "Accountable America" will suffer much derision and ridicule over this. And Accountable America will drain their operating funds with no chance of replenishment. It is a poor use of meager resources.

They should immolate themselves in the public square. That would draw attention to their cause. I know that I would watch them, and cheer.

I am still waiting for the deluge of private/527 organizations that Obama was afraid of at the start of the campaign. I see it as pretty even for both sides. And now we have this.

I just contributed a fairly large donation, which is on the public record and I hope I get a letter or a warning. I would love to respond and annoy them.

Why is it that when I make a $50 donation to my candidate of choice it's plastered all over the internet, complete with a map to my home, but anyone who donates to the 527s & swiftboaters can do it anonymously? There's definitely something wrong with this system!

You should call your congressperson and express your displeasure. There should be no limits on contributions and no public shame in making them.

The freedom hating forces of the left are feeling very emboldened, active suppression of political opposition is a normal tool of the left but they usually don't announce it. What's next threats of and then the use of the government to suppress free speech and political opposition like stopping all debate in congress on opposing positions on issues they don't want heard. Or calling in business leaders and warning them that they had better support the ruling party or they will pay a political price. Never mind, nothing new here.
